NBA DFS Picks & Building Blocks Today: Tuesday, March 28
Core Play of the Day — Tyus Jones: Memphis Grizzlies-Orlando Magic
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 35.32 | FanDuel: 34.15
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings: 66.20% | FanDuel: 70.9%
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $5,300 | FanDuel: $5,600
With Memphis star Ja Morant doubtful tonight due to soreness in his right thumb, it should come as no surprise that Tyus Jones is a core building block in all formats today. Everyone has read this book over and over again: With Morant out, Jones gets a huge boost in nearly every statistical category. Priced at only $5,300 on DraftKings, he looks like the top overall play on the slate.
Jones is now the cheapest he has been on DraftKings in weeks because Morant was active for the past three games. While he is slightly more expensive on FanDuel at $5,600, he still projects as an elite value play.
Nick Richards: Charlotte Hornets-Oklahoma City Thunder
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 30.92 | FanDuel: 31.10
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings: 60.90% | FanDuel: 61.6%
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $4,700 | FanDuel: $5,300
Even cheaper than Jones on both DraftKings and FanDuel, Charlotte center Nick Richards is right there with Memphis’ point guard as the top point-per-dollar play on the slate. With Mark Williams out of the rotation tonight, Richards finds himself in a great spot in Oklahoma City against the Thunder, and at $4,700 on DraftKings and $5,300 on FanDuel, he is too cheap on both sites for his projected role tonight.
Richards has been productive when given minutes and should play all he can handle with Williams out and Kai Jones backing him up. Like Jones, Richards is projected for massive ownership tonight. Considering they have by far the highest optimal percentages on the slate, it just makes sense to plug them in and get different in tournaments elsewhere.

New Orleans Pelicans-Golden State Warriors
The Warriors and Pelicans meet in the Bay with only a half game separating them in the wild Western Conference. As both teams fight for their playoff lives, expect the best they have to offer tonight in a game with major implications.
Starting with Golden State, the Warriors come into tonight’s action relatively healthy. Andrew Wiggins remains out for personal reasons, but other than that, the Warriors are good to go. While Golden State doesn’t offer any core building block pieces like Tyus Jones or Nick Richards, pretty much everyone on the Warriors has seen a price drop on DraftKings recently, making them appealing in tournaments.
Stephen Curry is only $9,600 while fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson has seen his price fall all the way down to $6,600. Jordan Poole is inexpensive at $5,900. Even Donte DiVincenzo looks like a solid value play in all formats at only $3,900.
The Pelicans also come into this game relatively healthy, with only star forward Zion Williamson on the injury report as of this writing. But even with no one else out, Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas remain two of the best plays on the slate. C.J. McCollum is also worth looking at, as the sharpshooter has fallen below $8,000 on DraftKings.
