NBA DFS Value and Advice | March 15
Memphis Grizzlies vs Miami Heat
While there are no clear priorities from the Grizzlies, players such as Tyus Jones, Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks and Jaren Jackson Jr. could be viable contrarian pieces in tournaments. For the Miami Heat, Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro are all decent options. Kevin Love is currently pulling the most ownership from the team, but his upside is limited if he continues to only play 20 to 22 minutes.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Cleveland Cavaliers
While this is a tough matchup for the 76ers, players like Joel Embiid and James Harden always offer tournament upside. We are still waiting on the injury report for Cleveland, but if Donovan Mitchell is in, Darius Garland is a good play and even better if he sits. Jarrett Allen is questionable, but he is a strong play if he is active. Evan Mobley and Mitchell have tournament upside at relatively expensive price tags. Caris LeVert is a top value again if Mitchell is out.
Update: Jarrett Allen is out.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Houston Rockets
Without Anthony Davis, D’Angelo Russell is one of the best guard plays on the slate in a great matchup. Malik Beasley also looks better without Davis as well. Jarred Vanderbilt, Rui Hachimura and Dennis Schroder all have more upside with Davis sidelined. Wenyen Gabriel has been Davis’s primary backup and is a strong value if he replaces Davis in the starting lineup. However, it is possible that Vanderbilt will move to center, with Schroder or Hachimura replacing Davis.
Alperen Sengun is questionable, but Kevin Porter Jr., Jalen Green and K.J. Martin Jr. are all reasonably priced and offer high ceilings in a good matchup. Sengun is a high-upside contrarian play if he is active. Jabari Smith is getting expensive but has played much better recently and seen increased playing time as a result. He will look better if Sengun is out because he will get more minutes at center. Tari Eason offers upside at low ownership if he comes off the bench and projects as a strong value (at higher ownership) if he starts in place of Sengun.
Boston Celtics vs Minnesota Timberwolves
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are always strong tournament plays. The group of Derrick White, Marcus Smart, Al Horford and Malcolm Brogdon is inexpensive, and it is likely that at least one of them has a big game. Rudy Gobert is questionable for Minnesota, but he is a strong center play if he is available thanks to increased production alongside Mike Conley. Anthony Edwards has a tough matchup, but he still offers tournament upside.

Sacramento Kings vs Chicago Bulls
Nobody is pulling much ownership from the Kings, but Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox are always appealing contrarian plays. This is a great matchup for the Bulls, with Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic and DeMar DeRozan all looking good. Alex Caruso offers value at a very cheap price tag.
Dallas Mavericks vs San Antonio Spurs
The Dallas Mavericks will be without superstar Luka Doncic for their game against the San Antonio Spurs. This leaves Tim Hardaway Jr. as the top scoring option for the Mavericks. However, his status for the game is questionable. If he plays, Hardaway is still an expensive DFS option but could provide significant upside in a great matchup. If Hardaway is ruled out, Jaden Hardy becomes an appealing value play.
On the other side, the Spurs are on the second end of a back-to-back and there is no injury report yet. While there are sure to be strong plays from this team, it is important to wait for confirmation on who is active before making any decisions.
Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Clippers
The Golden State Warriors do not have any specific priorities in this matchup, but Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson always have high upside in tournaments. Draymond Green is also a solid option as a final piece to a lineup.
For the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are the two best plays. Leonard has been putting up solid numbers recently, while George is averaging 24.6 points per game this season. Additionally, Ivica Zubac is an interesting low-owned option, as he has played 27 minutes in each of his last two games and is priced at just $5,300.
