NBA DFS Value and Advice | March 10
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Philadelphia 76ers
The Trail Blazers are coming off a win against the Hornets, but it remains to be seen if Anfernee Simons will play due to his questionable status. Damian Lillard is always a high-upside pay-up option regardless of his teammate’s status, but he looks even better without Simons. If Simons is out, Matisse Thybulle, Cam Reddish and Jerami Grant are all playable but not priorities. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid and James Harden are secondary plays for Philadelphia, who is a 9-point favorite in this one.
Atlanta Hawks vs. Washington Wizards
Trae Young has a great matchup against the worst pick-and-roll defense in the NBA. Dejounte Murray is playing huge minutes and is a strong mid-range option. John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic and De’Andre Hunter are all secondary value plays. On the other side, Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma are all strong plays. Delon Wright is viable if he starts but would be risky. He played 31.5 minutes last game despite Monte Morris’s return, but it is probably just a matter of time before his playing time decreases.

Denver Nuggets vs. San Antonio Spurs
Denver has an excellent matchup against the Spurs, with Nikola Jokic being the highest-projected player on the slate. Jamal Murray is a strong mid-range play and got minutes with the second unit last game, which hopefully continues. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Reggie Jackson are viable value plays. Michael Porter Jr. and Aaron Gordon are interesting in tournaments at low ownership if using a more balanced lineup. On the other hand, Devin Vassell is one of the most mispriced players on the slate. He started and played about 29 minutes in a blowout last game and is likely to exceed 30 minutes here if the game is relatively competitive. Keldon Johnson, Tre Jones and Jeremy Sochan all have upside but rank behind Vassell.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Miami Heat
This game is unappealing overall, but it does offer strong contrarian plays. Darius Garland is questionable for Cleveland, and if he sits, Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert will look much better. If Garland is in, he is a high-upside, low-owned tournament pivot, as is Mitchell. Jarrett Allen is affordably priced at $6,200, and Evan Mobley is a reasonable contrarian play as well. LeVert is cheap and is one of many unexciting but viable value plays on the slate. For Miami, Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo are all similar to the Cleveland quartet in that they are low-owned, high-ceiling plays in an unappealing matchup.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Assuming that Brooklyn is back to normal, Spencer Dinwiddie, Nicolas Claxton and Cameron Johnson are strong mid-range values. Mikal Bridges is more expensive but offers an extremely high ceiling as the No. 1 scorer in this offense. Royce O’Neale is another useful but uninspiring value piece. Rudy Gobert has been more productive since the Mike Conley trade, which was expected. His playing time is still a concern, but his price has dropped a little bit. Anderson is a useful mid-range piece at his salary and positions. Anthony Edwards offers a high ceiling but is priced appropriately. Jaden McDaniels is a viable secondary option as well. Nickeil Alexander-Walker is likely to play around 20 minutes and projects as a decent value, though he has absurd 38% on PGA DFS ownership projections DraftKings.
Toronto Raptors vs. Los Angeles Lakers
All of the Raptors’ starters are viable options in DFS, with Fred VanVleet, Jakob Poeltl and Pascal Siakam looking like the strongest plays. On the other hand, the Lakers’ recent struggles have made them less appealing in DFS, especially with the return of D’Angelo Russell. However, Anthony Davis remains a strong option for DFS lineups. Tournament plays on Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt are viable options, but Davis is the clear priority from the Lakers.
