NHL DFS Picks & Top Stacks | March 9
Top Stacks
Carolina Hurricanes Line 1: Seth Jarvis, Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svechnikov ($17,700)
This line has 5.31 expected goals for per 60 minutes on moneypuck.com and also plays on the top power play unit. The Hurricanes have a 3.9 implied Vegas total, and there is over a 10% chance of this line being a top-2 stack in the Top Stacks Tool. For under $18K it’s tough to find a better combination of matchup and price tonight on DraftKings.
Pittsburgh Penguins Line 2: Jason Zucker, Evgeni Malkin, Bryan Rust ($16,400)
The Penguins second line has a great five-on-five matchup against the depth lines of the Islanders and is projected for over 4.0 expected goals for per 60 minutes on moneypuck.com, with a 369-minute sample. Pittsburgh also has a modest 3.2 total, which will keep ownership in check. The Penguins second line is currently under 3% ownership in the Top Stacks Tool.

Defensemen
Erik Karlsson, San Jose Sharks ($7,100)
Karlsson is projected for over 25 minutes tonight and is one of the highest projected defensemen on the slate in Stokastic’s NHL DFS projections. He has an impressive 14.8 individual Corsi for per 60 minutes on the season and has recorded 8.6 shot attempts over his last five games. Karlsson is an elite defenseman and could provide excellent upside tonight as a one-off (at low ownership) or in addition to a Sharks forward line stack.
Rasmus Ristolainen, Philadelphia Flyers ($3,100)
Ristolainen has been playing over 20 minutes per game lately and has one of the highest blocks rates on the slate. He should have plenty of opportunities tonight on the road against the Hurricanes and has recorded at least two blocks in four out of his last five games.
Goalie
Jake Oettinger ($7.800)
Oettinger gets a road matchup with the Sabres tonight, who play at a very high pace. As a road favorite that is expected to see a decent amount of volume, Oettinger makes a for a great play in GPPs at a sub-$8,000 price tag on DraftKings.
