We’re just going to keep this short and sweet today, all. I spaced out last week and forgot to enter the, so there won’t be any ownership update. The payout structure is a little better this week, but it’s still not great. As of writing, only 1,110 spots have been filled in the 4,1117 DK $10, meaning we’ll likely see some more layover. I don’t think DraftKings cares. Here’s your winning lineup from last week. As we can see, the Ti-Cats stacks continue to pay dividends.

Thursday: Hamilton Tiger-Cats -12.5 AT Montreal Alouettes (56.5)

With a slate high 34.5 implied total, the Ti-Cats will once again be the most owned stack of the week. They have been absolutely dominant this season, with 128 points for in just three games. The next closest team is 40 points back. If you’re going to stack Masoli-Banks, make sure you’re differentiating elsewhere in your lineup.

  • Luke Tasker returns after missing two games and makes for an interesting play, given that sudden superstar Bralon Addison was just placed on the injured list. With everyone falling all over themselves to roster Brandon Banks, Tasker will fly under the radar. Consider QB-2WR stacks to differentiate.
  • Another option, which has worked out well two weeks in a row, is to find room in your Ti-Cats stacks for Sean Thomas-Erlington. The price is up to match the production, but his work in the passing game makes him viable in Masoli stacks.
  • It’s tough to get excited about the Alouettes side, but you can bring it back with BJ Cunningham, who seems to be Vernon Adams’ favorite option.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers +3.5 at Ottawa Redblacks (54)

This game could fly under the radar a bit, with DFSers rushing to stack the Lions and Ti-Cats, but with a 54 implied total, it’s worth looking into.

  • Andrew Harris has disappointed thus far, and it doesn’t get much easier this week with a matchup against the second ranked run defence in the CFL. It’s early yet, though, and if you want a contrarian pay-up option, Harris might be it. DFSers will flock to high-priced QB-WR stacks, leaving little left over for a $9,100 running back.
  • I expect Moses Madu Jr. will be the second or third highest owned RB this week, because he’s one of cheapest starting RB on the slate and pairs nicely with the high-priced stacks.
  • Dominique Davis makes for a nice, cost-savings pivot, at just 9K. With his rushing ability, you can get away without stacking him, which is nice, because figuring out who to stack him with is no easy task. Brad Sinopoli is the safe option, but has under-performed this season and his price hasn’t dropped. I’d rather take the high-upside risk and the savings with R.J. Harris or Dominique Rhymes.
  • Same problem with Bombers stacks. You’ve got four different receivers who could realistically lead the team. Chris Matthews is sneaky and will likely go under-owned.

BC Lions -7.5 at Toronto Argonauts (55)

BC travels all the way to Toronto looking for their first win of the season. Who knows if they’ll be able to make it to the stadium, with the thousands of Raptors fans aimlessly wandering the streets trying to spot Kawhi.

  • With the second highest total on the slate, the Lions should also be the second most owned stack. Bryan Burnham didn’t practice this week and is questionable. If he’s a full go, that should lower ownership. If he can’t this stack becomes exceedingly cheap. Lemar Durant would be a virtual lock at just $6,000, while Duron Carter is more expensive, but is tied for the league lead in targets.
  • The Lions finally established some semblance of a running game last week, with John White IV rushing 14 times for 64 yards and posting a 9-87-1 line. I’m guessing he’ll be the highest owned back on the slate, at a reasonable $6300. Pairing him up with Ti-Cats passing stacks will be a popular move.
  • No one on the Argos has done much thus far, and now they’re without starting QB James Franklin for at least the next six games. You might remember his backup, McLeod Bethel-Thompson, who floated around the NFL for years. He’s not much of a downgrade on Franklin, and at just $6,800 offers some savings in plus home matchup. The problem is figure out who to pair him with. You’re likely going to want at lease one of S.J. Green or Derel Walker. The Argos are my favorite contrarian stack of the week.
  • The Lions defence hasn’t been great this year, but the points allowed are a little misleading. In rushing yards and passing yards against, they’re middle of the pack. Expect them to be the most owned defence on the slate as $4,400 against the 9th ranked DK offence.

Calgary Stampeders +4.0 at Saskatchewan Roughriders (51)

  • Bo Levi Mitchell injured his shoulder last week and is questionable. If he can’t go, equally priced backup Nick Arbuckle would take over. That’s not appealing.
  • Stamps RB Don Jackson is OUT. The expectation is Ka’Deem Carey will take over lead role. Despite the tough matchup as road dogs, he’s intriguing at just $4,900. His work in the passing game provides a decent floor.
  • No interest in Stamps WRs with a backup QB and a tough matchup.
  • Cody Fajardo is lighting it up. He’s got back to back 350+ yard passing games. With the Stamps ailing, this is another cheap, concentrated stack in a spot that could surprise. Both Shaq Evans and Kyran Moore are stackable.
  • William Powell should get a downtick in ownership this week. He’s affordable, but is probably better in cash than GPPs.
  • Love the Roughies D/ST if Bo Levi can’t go.

Good luck, everyone!
