Jalen Hurts-Patrick Mahomes DFS Super Bowl Projections
Per Stokastic’s expert DFS projections, Jalen Hurts ($11,200 on DraftKings) projects to have the most fantasy points in the Super Bowl (24.65). Patrick Mahomes ($11,000) ranks just behind Hurts at 21.57 points. Even though he’s listed at a slightly higher price, Hurts has a better value rating.
Jalen Hurts ranked as such a high fantasy play throughout the year due to his dual-threat ability, but since he injured his throwing shoulder during a Week 15 win over the Chicago Bears, Hurts has been a little reluctant to take off. Philly’s QB has still combined 73 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles’ two playoff wins, although he’s remained under 300 yards passing thus far.
Hurts has had some poor performances in the playoffs and big games dating back to his college days. In three NFL playoff games, Hurts has just a 58.7% completion percentage for 533 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. As a member of the Oklahoma Sooners in 2019, Hurts went just 15 of 31 for 217 yards and an interception in a semifinal loss to the eventual-champion LSU Tigers.
There is plenty of reason to believe Hurts can put those demons to bed against the Chiefs in Super Bowl 57. He’ll have the luxury of going up against a KC defense that ranked 20th during the regular season in passing yards allowed per game (220.9). The Chiefs also struggle a bit containing speedy quarterbacks, allowing 4.65 yards per rush to opposing QBs.
Look for Hurts to use his patented escapability to frustrate the Chiefs, potentially even crossing the goal line for the fourth time this postseason.
Patrick Mahomes also comes into Super Bowl 57 nursing an injury after suffering a high ankle sprain in the Divisional Round win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. While limping throughout the game, Mahomes still managed to complete 29 of 43 passes for 326 yards and two touchdowns in the AFC Championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Look for the Patrick Mahomes-Jalen Hurts DFS totals to be similar, with a slight edge going to the Eagles quarterback in Super Bowl LVII.
