Per Stokastic’s expert rankings and projections, Allen ($7,800 on DraftKings) projects to have 26.30 fantasy points on Sunday’s main slate, the most of any player on the board. Burrow ranks as the next-best quarterback at 19.58 points, but Stokastic projects Allen as the higher-value play even with the price difference. Stokastic’s player ownership projections predict Allen to be rostered in 40.2% of lineups, with Burrow in 25.8%.
Allen carved up the Miami Dolphins defense for 352 passing yards and three touchdowns in the Wild Card Round. But it was two costly interceptions that kept Miami’s hopes alive until the very end of the fourth quarter. His 14 regular season interceptions are tied for second in the NFL.
“I mean, the turnovers, they hurt us,” Allen said, per the team’s YouTube channel. “Really let them back in the game. Up 17-0 with chances, and I give them the ball two times and give them a touchdown, it’s just things you can’t do. And you can’t expect to win like that, so some stuff to clean up.”
Even with the turnover issues, Allen still ranks seventh in the NFL in passing yards (4,283) and second in passing touchdowns (35). He also rushed for 762 yards and seven touchdowns, making fantasy and DFS owners very happy throughout the regular season.
Burrow does not pose the same threat with his legs but should still be able to show out on the biggest stage, as we have seen from the young quarterback dating back to his days at LSU. Burrow has 1,105 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions in four games in the playoffs in his career. He started hot with 55 yards and a touchdown in the Week 17 game against the Bills prior to the postponement due to Damar Hamlin’s injury.
Burrow and Allen will be putting on a show in what should be a classic quarterback duel in the Divisional Round. But if you find yourself between the two superstars in DFS, go with the versatile Allen.
