Week 1 NFL DFS Value Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel Lineups

The NFL season is finally starting this week, and this comes with massive DFS contests. After weeks of pretending to care about preseason NFL DFS, the games matter now. With pricing out well in advance, value is aplenty, as is our NFL DFS advice. Changes in roles in the preseason as well as injuries mean that a handful of players are not priced correctly, and we should take advantage of that with our NFL DFS picks on FanDuel and DraftKings. This article digs into the cheap players in the Awesemo DFS Projections that rate out best points per dollar.

Best Low-Priced NFL DFS Value Picks For Week 1

FanDuel Value Quarterback – Trevor Lawrence, JAX: $6,800

FanDuel has not priced the Jaguars correctly. Across the board players are looking like tremendous values from the team that finished last season with the worst record in football. This might feel uncomfortable, but they are player the Texans to open the season. Houston could very well finish as the worst team in the NFL this season. Our NFL Futures Projection Tool has the Texans winning just four games this season. This should help one of the best quarterback prospects in the history of the NFL get his career off to a good start for fantasy football purposes.

DraftKings Value Quarterback – Tyrod Taylor, HOU: $5,300

Taylor’s 2020 season did not go the way he hoped. The Chargers’ medical staff punctured his lung during a pregame injection and then Justin Herbert played so well that Taylor never got his job back. Taylor is not in position to succeed this season for Houston with a terrible team around him although there is some hope for DFS. The main reason is because he can run with the football. Behind a poor offensive line, Taylor will likely run for his life this Sunday. He is projected for low ownership and could put up a respectable DFS score just based on his rushing totals.

FanDuel Value Running Back – James Robinson, JAX: $5,900

The value here is simple. Robinson was expected to compete with Travis Etienne for snaps. Etienne is hurt and likely out for the year, so Robinson opens the season back in his role from last season in a great matchup against the Texans. Robinson proved he was able to shoulder a massive workload last year and Carlos Hyde is the only player threatening to steal touches. The Jaguars are favored on the road which is likely to happen against this season. The game script sets up nicely for Robinson after he burst onto the scene a year ago.

DraftKings Value Running Back – James White, NE: $4,400

White is another back benefitting from an unforeseen lineup situation. The Patriots cut Sony Michel before the season. This opens up additional playing time for White in the backfield. In addition, Cam Newton did not make the roster. Newton was the assumed starter, and he did not maximize the value of White under center last season. With Mac Jones starting, White has a different quarterback to target him in the pass game and this should also mean more red zone opportunities that did not exist with Newton taking snaps.

FanDuel Value Wide Receiver – Laviska Shenault Jr., JAX: $5,600

Here is yet another strong value play from the Jaguars on FanDuel. Shenault could become a top target for Lawrence this season. He rates out as one of the best bets for receptions in our Season-Long Player Props Tool. We project Shenault to haul in 82.5 receptions this season which is well over his 60.5 line at sportsbooks. He should get off to a hot start against a weak Texans’ secondary.

DraftKings Value Wide Receiver – Marquez Callaway, NO: $3,400

Callaway is benefitting from a couple of factors. With Michael Thomas out indefinitely, there is a big target gap in New Orleans. If the preseason is any indication, Callaway is going to soak up a ton of those options after he became a popular target of Jameis Winston. This is also why it is important that Winston won the quarterback battle over Taysom Hill. Winston should look to target Callaway downfield which is something that was never going to happen if Hill was the starter.
