Saturday, Nov. 28

Chris Carson, RB | Seattle Seahawks (Foot): Carson was a limited participant at practice for the Seahawks on Thursday and Friday due to a foot injury that has kept him sidelined since Week 7. Last week the Seahawks deployed Carlos Hyde to carry the workload via the running game. Hyde was able to turn 14 rush attempts into 79 yards and a touchdown in Week 11. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll seemed optimistic in terms of Carson’s Week 12 availability. Hyde will resume bell-cow duties if Carson cannot suit up again on Monday night when the Seahawks face the Philadelphia Eagles.

Adam Humphries, WR | Tennessee Titans (Concussion): Humphries sustained a concussion during Week 8 and has struggled to progress through the league’s concussion protocol since. Corey Davis and A.J. Brown will continue to be the team’s best pass-catching options in Week 12 for the Titans.

Rex Burkhead, RB | New England Patriots (Knee): The New England Patriots will be without Burkhead for the season’s duration due to a knee injury sustained during Week 11. The injury was rather severe. Patriots and Texans players both took a knee around Burkhead before he was carted off the field. James White replaced Burkhead handling pass-catching work while Damien Harris handled the heavy lighting regarding the New England run game. Sony Michel would likely mix in behind Harris now that Burkhead will be away from the team.

Tevin Coleman, RB | San Francisco 49ers (Knee): The 49ers have ruled Coleman out for week 12. Head coach Kyle Shanahan noted on Friday that Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson would be activated from the team’s IR on Saturday. Mostert will return as the 49ers lead back if cleared to play. Jerick McKinnon and Wilson would likely play roles in the passing game during Week 12. If Mostert and Wilson are ruled out, McKinnon gets the starting nod.

Deebo Samuel, WR | San Francisco 49ers (Hamstring): Samuel was a full participant in practice for the 49ers on Friday. Samuel has been troubled with a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined since Week 7. Samuel’s name was removed from the team’s injury report, and looks set to play in Week 12. Brandon Aiyuk is looking like he will miss Week 12 due to COVID. Samuel Richie James and Kendrick Bourne will all play important roles in the 49er passing game on Sunday.

Zach Ertz, TE | Philadelphia Eagles (Ankle): The Eagles showed optimism earlier in the week that Ertz would be ready to play on Monday in Week 12. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson told reporters on Saturday that Ertz won’t be activated from injured reserve for Monday’s game. Richard Rodgers and Dallas Goedert will continue to fill in at the tight end position in Ertz’s absence.

Jonathan Taylor, RB | Indianapolis Colts (COVID): The Colts have place Taylor on the team’s injured reserve/COVID list. Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines will play prominent roles in the run game for the Colts on Sunday in Week 12.

Christian McCaffrey, RB | Carolina Panthers (Shoulder): McCaffrey has officially been ruled out for Week 12. Mike Davis will get the start in place of McCaffrey when the Panthers face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Tua Tagovailoa, QB | Miami Dolphins (Thumb): The Dolphins are listing Tagovailoa as doubtful heading into Week 12. Ryan Fitzpatrick is the team’s backup quarterback and looks to take snaps under center  Sunday. Fitzpatrick’s return is an immediate upgrade to Devante Parker. Fitzpatrick also becomes an interesting streaming option in season-long fantasy leagues and an intriguing DFS option in Week 12.

Drew Lock, QB | Denver Broncos (COVID): The NFL have deemed quarterbacks Brett Rypien, Blake Bortles, and lock ineligible to play in Week 12 against the New Orleans Saints. It seems all three quarterbacks came in close contact with teammate Jeff Driskel who tested positive for COVID-19. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Broncos are not willing to forfeit Sunday’s game. Royce Freeman is listed as the Broncos emergency quarterback. However, practice squad quarterback Kendall Hinton will take snaps under center for the Broncos. The New Orleans Saints defense becomes a very interesting play this Sunday.

Friday, Nov. 27

Larry Fitzgerald, WR | Arizona Cardinals (COVID): Fitzgerald tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. Fitzgerald testing positive and missing Week 12 opens the door to more playing time for Andy Isabella. Isabella has seen 21 of his 24 targets this season from the slot position. Heading into a match against the Patriots in Week 12, Isabella is a WR3.

Lamar Jackson, QB | Baltimore Ravens (COVID): Reports came in Thursday evening from the Baltimore ravens camp stating that Jackson tested positive for COVID-19. Jackson will miss Week 12 due to contracting COVID. Jackson may also miss Week 13 when the Ravens face the Dallas Cowboys. Robert Griffin will take snaps under center for Baltimore in Week 12. The game between the Steelers and Ravens is set to play Sunday. Update: Sunday’s game has been rescheduled to Tuesday.

Giovani Bernard, RB | Cincinnati Bengals (Concussion): Bernard was a limited participant at the Bengals practice on Thursday. Bernard was a DNP during Wednesday’s practice. Thursday’s limited session is an upgrade to the veteran running backs Week 12 status. However, Bernard can’t play until he’s finished progressing through the league’s concussion protocol. Samaje Perine will split snaps with Trayveon Williams during Bernard’s absence Sunday.

Tevin Coleman, RB | San Francisco 49ers (Knee): Coleman was a limited participant at practice for the 49ers on Thursday. A full practice from Coleman on Friday would likely mean he’s set to play in Week 12, which muddies the 49er backfield a bit. Raheem Mostert looks set to start in week 12 as well, returning from a knee injury. Jerick McKinnon would likely mix in on third downs making Coleman a non-factor from a fantasy perspective this Sunday.

Sam Darnold, QB | New York Jets (Shoulder): Darnold was a full participant at practice for the Jets on Thursday. Darnold has been away from the team since Week 8 due to a shoulder injury. Another full practice on Friday would likely mean the Jets plan on starting Darnold in Week 12 when the Jets face the Dolphins. Darnold will have all his receivers Denzel Mims, Jamison Crowder, and Breshad Perriman at his disposal Sunday.

Tua Tagovailoa, QB | Miami Dolphins (Thumb): Tua practiced with the Dolphins on Wednesday and Thursday on a limited basis. Dolphins head coach Brian Flores has confirmed that Tua will start in Week 12 when the Dolphins face the New York Jets. This game becomes an excellent bounce-back spot for Tua as the Jets rank  25th against opposing quarterbacks.

Todd Gurley, RB | Atlanta Falcons (Knee): Todd Gurley did not practice with the Falcons on Wednesday or Thursday due to knee trouble. Gurley’s troublesome knee has him set to miss Week 12. Brian Hill saw 26 snaps in Week 11. Gurley also carried the ball 23 times for the Falcons last week. With the Falcons ruling Gurley out, Hill becomes an intriguing DFS option and a serviceable backup for season-long fantasy players looking to replace Gurley in Week 12.

Thursday, Nov. 26

D’Andre Swift, RB | Detroit Lions (Concussion): Swift has been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Houston Texans. Kerryon Johnson and Adrian Peterson will play roles in the running game for the Lions today.

Terry McLaurin, WR | Washington Football team (Ankle): McLaurin will play on Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys.

Giovani Bernard, RB | Cincinnati Bengals (Concussion): Like D’Andre Swifts situation last week, Bernard did not practice with the Bengals on Wednesday and now is in the leagues’ concussion protocol. There are no reports on how Bernard sustained the concussion. The Cincinnati running back now has four days to navigate through five stages of protocols before he is available to play. Samaje Perine and Trayveon Williams will step into larger roles if Bernard sits in Week 12.

Julio Jones, WR | Atlanta Falcons (Hamstring): Jones practiced on a limited basis with the Falcons Wednesday. It is a good sign for Jones, who has struggled with hamstring issues all season long. Friday’s practice should give us more insight into the star receivers’ availability for Week 12. Jones is a WR1 if he’s active Sunday.

Nick Foles, QB | Chicago Bears (Hip): Foles was a non-participant at practice for the Bears on Wednesday due to a hip injury sustained during Week 11. Teammate Mitchell Trubisky got in a full practice session on Wednesday and looks as if he may get the nod to start Week 12 if Foles cannot play.

Tyler Higbee, TE | Los Angeles Chargers (Elbow): Higbee was held out of practice Wednesday and Thursday for the Rams due to an elbow injury. The rams may be holding Higbee out for maintenance reasons. Rams head coach Sean McVay stated Higbee is a game-time decision heading into a match against the Sa Francisco 49ers Sunday.  If Higbee is unable to go on Sunday, Gerald Everett will get the start in Week 12. Everett has seen 17 targets over the last three weeks.

Deebo Samuel, WR | San Francisco 49ers (Hamstring): Samuel practiced with the 49ers on Thursday on a limited basis. It’s a step in the right direction for Samuel, who has been week to week dealing with a hamstring injury. A full practice from Samuel on Friday should be all the training staff needs to see to get Samuel on the field Sunday in Week 12. If cleared to play, Samuel becomes a dice roll flex option Sunday when the San Francisco 49ers face the Los Angeles Rams.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR | Green Bay Packers (Achilles): Scantling was a limited participant during practice for the Packers on Thursday due to an Achilles injury. Scantling’s name was not on Wednesday’s injury report, which indicates that the injury did happen Thursday during Packers’ practice. The Packers are still trying to ease Allen Lazard back into the offense and would be in line for more snaps if Scantling cant play in Week 12.

Wednesday, Nov. 25

Steelers vs. Ravens: The NFL decided that it would be in both The Ravens and Steelers best interest to move Thursday’s primetime game between the two teams to Sunday due to Ravens players testing positive for COVID. The Ravens have had seven players test positive over the last three days, raising concerns. Mark Ingram, J.K. Dobbins, Pernell McPhee, Matt Skura, Calais Campbell, Trace McSorley, and Patrick Mekari have all been placed on the team’s injured reserve/COVID list. Contact tracing has begun, and both teams are following the NFL COVID procedures at the time.

Kenny Golladay, WR | Detroit Lions (Hip): The Lions held Golladay out of practice on Tuesday due to a hip injury. Golladay took part in practice on Monday but remained limited, so his absence on Tuesday is a setback. Wednesday will be the determining factor regarding Golladay’s availability for Thursday. However, Golladay’s chances to play aren’t good. Marvin Jones and Marvin Hall will continue to be the team’s first and second passing options for the Lions. Update: Golladay was a non-participant at practice for the Lions on Wednesday and has been ruled out.

Christian McCaffrey, RB | Carolina Panthers (Shoulder): Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that McCaffrey will return to practice for the Panthers this week, and his status is up in the air. That does not necessarily mean that McCaffrey will play in Week 12. However, it is an excellent sign for the Panthers. There isn’t a reason to play McCaffrey in Week 12 with the Panthers heading into a Week 13 bye. Until we hear otherwise, plan to see Mike Davis start in place of McCaffrey for Week 12. Update: McCaffrey is not expected to play Week 12.

Randall Cobb, WR | Houston Texans (toe): The Houston Texans have placed Cobb on the injured reserve list due to a toe injury. Cobb’s sustained a toe injury early in his Week 12 contest and resulted in him having to exit the game. Keke Coutee replaced Cobb during Week 12 and ran 26 passing routes. Coutee ran 23 of those 26 routes from the slot position. Deshaun Watson targeted Coutee four times on Sunday. Coutee caught two of those for targets, ending his day with a stat line of 10 yards and a touchdown. With Cobb landing on IR and Kenny Stills dealing with a leg injury, Coutee looks to step into a larger role on Thursday when the Texans face the Lions.

Auden Tate, WR | Cincinnati Bengals (COVID): The Bengals placed Tate on the team’s injured reserve/COVID list. For the moment, Tate’s Week 12 status seems to be in jeopardy. In order to play, Tate needs to test negative two consecutive days in a row.

Zach Ertz, TE | Philadelphia Eagles (Ankle): The Eagles designated Ertz for return from the team’s injured reserve list last Monday. Ertz has been away from the team since Week 6 due to an ankle injury. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson is optimistic that Ertz will play Week 12 when the Eagles face the Seahawks Sunday. If cleared to play, Ertz carries TE1 status heading into Week 12.

D’Andre Swift, RB | Detroit Lions (Concussion): Swift practiced with the Lions Wednesday and is listed as questionable. This is a slight upgrade to Swift’s availability heading into a Thanksgiving matchup against the Texans on Thursday. If Swift is unable to play, Kerryon Johnson will play a prominent role in the Lions run game.

Sammy Watkins, WR | Kansas City Chiefs (Calf, Hamstring): Watkins was a full participant at practice for the Chiefs on Wednesday. It’s a good look for Sammy, who has been away from the team since Week 5 due to calf and hamstring injuries. Watkins looks set to return in Week 12. Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson would be directly impacted if Watkins gets the green light to play.

Tuesday, Nov. 24

Adam Thielen, WR | Minnesota Vikings (COVID): Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The Vikings are placing Thielen on the team’s injured reserve/COVID list. With this news breaking so early in the week, Thielen has a chance to play during Week 12 when the Vikings face the Panthers. I’ll be updating this situation as the news breaks during the week. In the event Thielen doesn’t play, Justin Jefferson would become the team’s WR1.

Joe Burrow, QB | Cincinnati Bengals (Knee): The Bengals placed Burrow on IR on Monday after suffering a knee injury. The Bengals faced the Washington Football Team during Week 11. Burrow completed 22 of 34 passes while accumulating 203 yards and a touchdown before being carted off the field in the third quarter. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Burrow tore his MCL and ACL. Ryan Finley replaced Burrow under center and was horrible, to be frank. Finley completed three of 10 passes for 30 yards while being sacked four times on Sunday. Finley will be under center for the Bengals for the foreseeable future.

Mark Ingram, RB | Baltimore Ravens (COVID): Reports came out of the Baltimore camp Monday afternoon stating that Ingram and J.K. Dobbins are being placed on the team’s injured reserve/COVID list. Ingram and Dobbins will not play during Thursday’s game against the Steelers. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill need to be added from the wavier wire and rostered in all season-long fantasy leagues.

La’Mical Perine, RB | (Ankle): According to Adam Gase, Perine suffered a high ankle sprain during Week 11 when the Jets faced the Chargers Sunday. The injury means that Perine will miss the next few games at a minimum. Frank Gore will step in and see the majority of snaps in the run game for the Jets while Perine is away from the team.

Julio Jones, WR | (Hamstring): Jones exited Sunday’s match against the New Orleans Saints during the first quarter of the contest due to a hamstring injury. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris stated to the media on Monday that Jones could be a game-time-decision. Morris has been known to hold Jones out of practice during the week and then fire him up the day of the game. Calvin Ridley would see an increase of targets with Jones off the field as well as Russell Gage.

Christian McCaffrey, RB | Carolina Panthers (Shoulder): There is a high probability that the Panthers will sit McCaffrey until the team returns from their Week 13 bye. That means that we wouldn’t see the Panthers star running back until Week 14. Panthers Head coach Matt Rhule said that McCaffrey is week-to-week. It would be best to act as if Mike Davis is still starting in place of McCaffrey until we get word otherwise. Mike Davis will be an RB1 during Week 12.

Austin Ekeler, RB | Los Angeles Chargers (Hamstring): Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that Ekeler will resume practicing this week. The Chargers are designating Ekeler for return from the team’s injured reserve, which is excellent news for the team. Ekeler’s 21-day practice window is now open. How Ekeler responds to practice after being away from the team since Week 4 will be worth monitoring. There is a slim chance Ekeler will suit up in Week 12. Ekeler will automatically slide into RB2 conversations once he’s activated.

Kyler Murray, QB | Arizona Cardinals (Shoulder): Murray may have tweaked his throwing shoulder during Week 11. Murray was wincing on the sideline late in the fourth quarter when the Cardinals faced the Seahawks. He was a nonparticipant during practice on Monday. Murray told the media, “I feel fine.” I feel good.” It looks like the team is just being cautious. Murray will be a top quarterback option in Week 12 when the Cardinals face the Patriots.

John Brown, WR | Buffalo Bills (Ankle): The Bills are coming off a Week 11 bye. The bye week gave Brown extra time to get healthy from an ankle injury he sustained during Week 10. Brown still has an uphill battle before he will be able to play again. Gabriel Davis would likely get the start in Brown’s absence and should be view as WR4/Flex play in season-long fantasy leagues.

Chris Carson, RB | Seattle Seahawks (Foot): Carson has been sidelined the last few weeks due to a foot injury. He was a full participant during practice for the Seahawks on Monday and looks to be on track to play in Week 12. Carson will resume bell-cow duties for Seattle on Monday night when the Seahawks face the Eagles.

D’Andre Swift, RB | Detroit Lions (Concussion): Swift returned to practice for the Lions on Tuesday on a limited basis. It’s a step in the right direction for the Lions running back that mysteriously went into the league’s concussion protocol last Thursday. The Lions should release more details regarding Swift’s availability Wednesday.
