Saturday, Dec. 12

Josh Jacobs, RB | Las Vegas Raiders (Ankle): Jacobs will head into this weekend with a questionable tag. Raiders head coach John Gruden told the press that he would see how Jacobs is feeling on Saturday before he makes his final call regarding Jacobs playing status. Jacobs logged limited practice sessions throughout the week and seems like he’s ready to go. If Jacobs suits up, he can be viewed as an RB2 for Sunday’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. If he sits, it will be another week of Devontae Booker at the running back position for the Raiders.

David Johnson, RB | Houston Texans (COVID): The Texans placed Johnson on the team’s injured reserve/COVID list Friday afternoon. Johnson will miss Week 14, and the Texans will turn to Duke Johnson. Duke’s stats weren’t that appealing during David’s absence. However, there’s enough volume here to make Duke a viable option on DFS platforms where players may be looking to save some salary.

Latavius Murray, RB | New Orleans Saints (Knee): Murray’s name was removed from the Saints injury report on Friday. There was a bit of worry when Murray logged a limited practice session on Thursday. Murray will play against the Eagles in Week 14 and could see goal-line opportunities.

Chris Carson, RB | Seattle Seahawks (Foot): The Seahawks removed Carson’s name from the final injury report on Friday. Teammate Carlos Hyde also had his name removed from the team’s injury report. Both will play in Week 14 against when the Seahawks face the New York Jets.

Kenny Golladay, WR | Detroit Lions (Hip): The Lions have ruled Golladay out for Week 14, and he remains week-to-week. The Lions will continue to depend on T.J. Hockensen, Mohamed Sanu, and Marvin Jones in the passing game this Sunday. The Lions will have a tough matchup against a red hot Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers this week.

DeAndre Hopkins, WR | Arizona Cardinals (Back, Neck): Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters on Fridays that Hopkins was a full participant at practice for the Cardinals. Hopkins saw 13 targets and had 8 receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown during Week 13. Those numbers don’t sound very impressive, but it is worth noting that Kyler Murray has been dealing with soreness in his throwing shoulder. Hopkins is a WR1 anytime he steps on the field. The Cardinals will face the New York Giants during Week 14.

Ezekiel Elliott, RB | Dallas Cowboys (Calf): The Cowboys have listed Elliot as questionable heading into their Week 14 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. There was little doubt that he would miss this week. Elliot logged limited practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. The Cowboys seem to have found a bit of rhythm with Andy Dalton at the helm. Elliot is a decent DFS option this week.

Friday, Dec. 11

Austin Hooper, TE | Cleveland Browns (Neck): Hooper has a neck injury that kept him sidelined during Friday’s practice. He has a Monday night matchup against the Baltimore Ravens this week and will need the extra day of rest. The Browns Saturday injury report will have more info for us regarding Hooper’s Week 14 availability. If Hooper can’t play this week, Harrison Bryant becomes an intriguing punt play on DFS platforms.

Julio Jones, WR | Atlanta Falcons (Hamstring): News was received Friday morning that Falcons head coach Raheem Morris is ruling Jones out for Week 14 due to his hamstring issue. Morris also stated that the team would discuss plans on shutting Jones down for the season “later.” Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage will see an increase in target volume with Julio off the field.

Keke Coutee, WR | Houston Texans (Knee): Coutee was limited at practice on Wednesday due to knee trouble but managed to practice in full Thursday. Coutee is coming off an outstanding Week 13 performance. He torched the Colts defense for 141 yards on 8 catches last Sunday. Coutee took full advantage of Will Fuller‘s absence and will look to continue when the Texans play the Bears during Week 14.

Tee Higgins, WR | Cincinnati Bengals (Hamstring): Higgins is dealing with a hamstring issue that has kept him limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday. Soft tissue injuries are always hard to gauge. Logging limited practice sessions is an encouraging sign for Higgins. Friday’s injury report for the Bengals should give us more clarity on Higgins’s availability for Sunday. If cleared to play, Higgins has a soft matchup against a porous Dallas Cowboys defense during Week 14.

Brandin Cooks, WR | Houston Texans (Foot, Neck): Cooks seems to be a bit banged up dealing with a foot and neck injury that kept him limited at practice on Thursday. His Week 13 numbers weren’t that impressive. Cooks only caught 5 passes for 65 yards last week. However, Cooks is still the best pass-catcher on the Texans Roster with star speedster Will Fuller suspended. Cooks will look to bounce back this Sunday when the Texans face the Chicago Bears.

Frank Gore, RB | New York Jets (Concussion): Gore suffered a concussion on the game’s first play during Week 13. The trauma forced Gore to exit the game, and he did not return. Gore was a DNP for Thursday’s practice with the Jets. Head coach Adam Gase fully expects Gore to play this Sunday when the Jets face the Seattle Seahawks.

Deebo Samuel, WR | San Francisco 49ers (Foot): Samuel returned to practice on Thursday for the 49ers after being a DNP on Wednesday due to a foot contusion. 49er’s head coach Kyle Shanahan stated the injury is unrelated to the broken foot that Samuel dealt with during the offseason. All signs point to Samuel taking the field in Week 14 when the 49ers face the Washington Football team.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB | Kansas City Chiefs (Illness): Helaire returned to practice in full with the Chiefs on Thursday after dealing with an illness that had him active but sidelined during Week 13. It became an unfortunate turn of events for season-long fantasy football managers that may have banked on Helaire to help them reach the playoffs. The Chiefs have a favorable matchup against a Miami Dolphins defense during Week 14 that is better against the pass than the run. Helaire has RB2 value heading into this Sunday.

Terry McLaurin, WR | Washington Football Team (Ankle): McLaurin was upgraded to being a full participant at practice for Washington on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday due to an ankle injury. McLaurin is coming off of an underwhelming Week 13 performance where he only had two receptions the entire game. He will look to bounce back during Week 14 when the Washington Football team meets the San Francisco 49ers.

Thursday, Dec 10

Josh Jacobs, RB | Las Vegas Raiders (Ankle): Jacobs hasn’t practiced with the Raiders since sustaining an ankle injury during Week 12. Jacobs returned to practice for the Raiders on Thursday but was held to limited work. All signs point to Jacobs playing in Week 14. Barring any setbacks in practice on Friday, Jacobs should be good to go and resume his starting role if cleared to play for Sunday’s game against the Colts.

Christian McCaffrey, RB | Carolina Panthers (Quad): McCaffrey tweaked a quad injury during Wednesday’s practice with the Panthers. Panthers head coach Matt Rhule told reporters, “McCaffrey is rehabbing, and at this point, he doesn’t expect McCaffrey to play.” We already know what to do in this situation, seeing that McCaffrey isn’t suiting up during Week 14. Mike Davis will receive the lion’s share of work in Week 14 against the Denver Broncos.

Todd Gurley, RB | Atlanta Falcons (Knee): Gurley practiced with his team on Wednesday on a limited basis due to knee soreness. Falcons OC Dirk Koetter confirmed to the media that Gurley is dealing with knee trouble.  Koetter also said the Falcons would only be using Gurley on third-down and red-zone situations moving forward. Gurley only rushed 9 times during Week 13 and was out-snapped by fellow running back Ito Smith. The Falcons running game has turned into a committee approach. The Atlanta backfield also becomes one to avoid for fantasy purposes. Gurley is a desperation flex play at best in season-long fantasy football leagues. He holds minimal appeal via DFS platforms as long as he shares a backfield with two other running backs.

Hayden Hurst, TE | Atlanta Falcons (Ankle): Hurst was a limited participant during Falcons practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury. The Falcons tight end has been a bit of a disappointment since coming off the bye week. Hurst played through his injury during Week 13 and would only be in danger of missing Week 14 barring a setback during practice. Hurst and the Falcons face the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday.

Ezekiel Elliott, RB | Dallas Cowboys (Calf): The Cowboys did not practice on Wednesday. If they had practiced, the team estimated that Elliott would have been a limited participant. There’s nothing that indicates Elliot won’t play in Week 14. More news will be available later today after the team releases their injury report.

Allen Lazard, WR | Green Bay Packers (Core): The Packer training staff have been taking it easy on Lazard. Lazard did practice with the Packers on Wednesday but was limited due to a core injury that kept him sidelined most of the season. He seems to be on track to play during Week 14 when the Packers meet the Detroit Lions Sunday.

Tyreek Hill, WR | Kansas City Chiefs (Illness): Hill missed practice with the Chiefs on Wednesday due to a non-COVID-like illness, according to Andy Reid. There is no word as yet how long Hill may be away from the team due to the illness. It’s a situation we will have to monitor heading into the weekend. Hill has a difficult match up during Week 14 when the Chiefs face off against the Miami Dolphins.

Chris Carson, RB | Seattle Seahawks (Foot): Carson was limited at practice for the Seahawks due to a foot injury. Head coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Tuesday that Carson isn’t at 100 percent health just yet. Carson rushed 13 times last week for 65 yards while averaging 5.0 yards a carry. The Seahawks have an excellent matchup against the winless Jets during Week 14. If Carson can play, he becomes a top 10 fantasy option this week.

Julio Jones, WR | Atlanta Falcons (Hamstring): Jones missed another day of practice for the Falcons on Thursday. Jones has been battling a nagging hamstring all season long. It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen Jones take the field after not practicing during the week. This is a situation that needs to be monitored closely. Jones is a WR1 anytime he steps on the field. However, he becomes tough to trust, given his history of in-game injury.

Wednesday, Dec. 9

Christian McCaffrey, RB | Carolina Panthers (Shoulder): McCaffrey has been away from the team since Week 9 due to a shoulder injury. Matt Rhule told the press on Monday that he’s hopeful about McCaffrey’s Sunday availability. Rhule also said there is nothing to make him think McCaffrey won’t be ready. McCaffrey looks to resume bell-cow responsibilities during Week 14. The Panthers’ star running back will return Sunday and carry RB1 status. Mike Davis will return to a more reserve role for the Panthers. Update: Mccaffrey suffered a slight setback during practice. Limited due to a quad injury Wednesday.

Antonio Gibson, RB | Washington Football Team (Toe): Gibson exited his Week 13 match against the Pittsburgh Steelers early in the first quarter due to a toe injury. It’s disappointing news for a Washington team that just beat the undefeated Steelers. Gibson’s injury seemed to be serious. Washington trainers tried to tape Gibson’s toe, but he was unable to return to the game. J.D. McKissic and Peyton Barber filled in during Gibson’s absence. McKissic and Barber will see more work in Week 14, with Gibson looking like he will sit. Update: Gibson will not play this week.

James Conner, RB | Pittsburgh Steelers (COVID): Conner looks to return to the Steelers after missing the last couple of weeks due to testing positive for COVID. Benny Snell and Anthony McFarland filled in while Connor was away but didn’t provide much spark for the Pittsburgh running game by any means. Connor will resume his role as the team’s lead running back during Week 14 when the Steelers face off against the Bills. Conner holds RB1 status this week. Update: The Steelers activated Connor off the injured reserve/COVID Wednesday afternoon.

Larry Fitzgerald, WR | Arizona Cardinals (COVID): The Cardinals have activated Fitzgerald off the teams’ injured reserve/COVID list Tuesday afternoon. Fitzgerald will resume slot receiver responsibilities during Week 14. Quarterback Kyler Murray seems to be dealing with trouble in his throwing shoulder that has been quite noticeable as of late. With Fitzgerald returning, Andy Isabella will be a fantasy afterthought. The Cardinals face the Giants in Week 14.

Chris Godwin, WR | Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Finger): Godwin was a non-participant at practice on Tuesday after undergoing a procedure and having pins removed from his finger. The Buccaneers likely will keep Godwin limited during practice throughout the week. More clarity on the situation should arise Thursday or Friday. Update: Godwin did not participate in practice for the Buccaneers on Wednesday.

Salvon Ahmed, RB | Miami Dolphins (Shoulder): Ahmed did not practice with the Dolphins on Wednesday due to a shoulder injury. It’s the same injury he’s been dealing with that caused him to sit during Week 13. DeAndre Washington also missed Week 13 due to a hamstring injury and couldn’t practice on Wednesday either. Matt Breida remains on the Dolphins injured reserve/COVID list. Myles Gaskins is the only healthy running back on the Dolphins active roster at the moment. Gaskins will control the lion’s share of work for the Dolphins during Week 14.

Philip Rivers, QB | Indianapolis Colts (Toe): Rivers wasn’t able to practice on Wednesday due to him dealing with a case of turf toe. It’s an injury that Rivers has been dealing with for the last few weeks that will require off-season surgery, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Rivers has been playing through the injury and looks to be in no danger of missing Week 14. The Chargers meet the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday. Rivers can be view as a high upside QB2 this week.

D’Andre Swift, RB | Detroit Lions (Illness): Swift missed Week 13 due to a non-COVID like illness. Swift returned to practice for the Lions on Wednesday but was a limited participant. It’s a mystery at the moment just how involved Swift will be if given the green light to play this week. Swift is currently on track to play this week. However, more than a limited practice session before Friday will be more reassuring in terms of his Week 14 availability. If Swift is unable to play, Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson will continue to carry the workload via the Detroit Lions running game.

Daniel Jones, QB | New York Giants (Hamstring): The Giants are expecting Jones to return for Week 14, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN. Jones came close to playing in Week 13 before being ruled out before the game started.  Jones returning is an immediate upgrade to the Giants passing game. It’s worth mentioning that Jones has been finding success in protecting the football lately. Jones managed to play turnover-free football for his last three contests and looks to continue this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Kenny Golladay, WR | Detroit Lions (Hip): Golladay missed another day of practice for the Lions on Wednesday. Golladay has missed the last 5 games due to a hip injury sustained sometime during Week 8. It’s been an uphill battle for Golladay to get on the field. He will need to practice in some capacity this week to play during Week 14.

Curtis Samuel, WR | Carolina Panthers (COVID): The Panthers placed Samuel and D.J. Moore on the team’s injured reserve/COVID list Monday. News broke Monday morning that Moore tested positive. Moore’s chances of playing in Week 14 are doubtful. Samuel, on the other hand, was only a close contact. Samuel will need two consecutive negative tests before being eligible to play the Sunday when the Panthers face the Denver Broncos.

Joe Mixon, RB | Cincinnati Bengals (Foot): Bengals head coach Zac Taylor told the press Wednesday that there is a possibility that Mixon will be able to return this season. Taylor also ruled Mixon out for Week 14. Giovani Bernard, Trayveon Williams, and Samaje Perine will continue to play prominent roles in the Bengals’ running game in Week 14.
