Trevor Lawrence-Patrick Mahomes DFS Rankings
Per Stokastic’s expert projections, Patrick Mahomes ($8,00 on DraftKings) has the highest fantasy projection of any Divisional Round player (26.70). Trevor Lawrence ($6,000) projects decently below the Chiefs QB at 18.14. Stokastic’s ownership projection tool has Mahomes looking at being rostered in 18.8% of lineups, while Lawrence sits at 10.5%.
Lawrence comes into Saturday’s tilt following the biggest win of his young NFL career. Despite going down 27-0 early in the first half of the Wild Card Round against the Los Angeles Chargers, Lawrence led a second-half charge before a final-minute field goal completed the most unlikely comeback. Lawrence threw four interceptions in the first half, but rebounded in the second half, throwing for 211 yards and three touchdowns.
Patrick Mahomes comes into Saturday’s game with much higher expectations placed on him and the Chiefs. Thanks to a first-round bye, the Chiefs will be well-rested, in a position where they have thrived throughout Andy Reid’s tenure. Mahomes will look to build on another dominant regular season performance, leading the league in passing yards (5,250), passing touchdowns (41) and QBR (77.7), likely doing enough to secure the second MVP trophy of his career.
He’ll also have the luxury of going up against a Jaguars defense that has struggled to defend opposing quarterbacks. Jacksonville ranks 28th in passing yards allowed per game (238.5), allowing Justin Herbert to throw for 273 yards and a touchdown in the Wild Card Round.
Mahomes threw for 331 yards and four touchdowns when the Chiefs beat the Jaguars 27-17 in Week 10. Lawrence threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns in that matchup.
Look for a strong showing from both Trevor Lawrence and Patrick Mahomes in the Divisional Tound. But go with the proven Mahomes if you find yourself between the two in DFS.
