NFL DFS: Monday’s Preseason Week 2 Value Plays, Sleepers & NFL DFS Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel (August 22)

Week 2 of the NFL Preseason continues with a showdown slate on Monday (Aug. 22, 2022). Like Week 1, the most important factor in preseason DFS is projecting playing time. This piece will dig into the roster of each team and pinpoint exactly where that value might come from and be the ultimate guide for making the best NFL DFS picks tonight for DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.

Atlanta Falcons

QB1 – Marcus Mariota – Mariota played 13 snaps in Week 1, completing two passes for 36 yards.

QB2 – Desmond Ridder – Ridder was drafted 74th overall in the third round out of Cincinnati. He is 6-foot-3, 211 pounds and ran a 4.52 40-yard dash. Ridder played 42 snaps in Week 1, completing 10 of 22 passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed six times for 59 yards.

QB3 – Feleipe Franks – Franks completed 42.3% of his passes for 128 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception. He is 6-foot-6, 228 pounds and ran a 4.61 40-yard dash, but he has been playing some tight end in camp. Franks played 11 snaps in Week 1, completing both of his passes for 36 yards.

RB1 – Cordarrelle Patterson – Patterson played one snap in Week 1.

RB2 – Damien Williams – Williams played six snaps, rushing three times for 10 yards.

RB3 – Tyler Allgeier – Allgeier was the 151st pick in the fifth round out of BYU. He is 5-foot-11, 224 pounds and ran a 4.60 40-yard dash. He rushed for 1,130 and 1,601 yards in back-to-back years, while catching 42 passes in those two seasons. Allgeier played 18 snaps, which led the team. He rushed three times for 25 yards but didn’t see any pass game opportunities.

RB4 – Avery Williams – Williams didn’t play last preseason. He was drafted 184th overall in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He played corner in college, but Atlanta changed his position this offseason. He is 5-foot-9, 195 pounds and profiles a pass catching back. Williams has received rave reviews as a pass catching specialist this preseason. He played five snaps in Week 1, catching his only target for 1 yard and carrying once as well.

RB5 – Qadree Ollison – Ollison played 12 snaps, rushing five times for 33 yards.

RB6 – Caleb Huntley – Huntley is 5-foot-10, 229 pounds. He played 16 snaps in Week 1, rushing eight times for 18 yards. He led the team in rushing attempts, but he didn’t see any opportunities in the pass game.

RB7 – Keith Smith – Fullback.

WR1 – Drake London – London was the 8th overall pick in the first round coming out of USC. He is 6-foot-4, 219 pounds and didn’t test due to an ankle injury in his final year at USC. London played five snaps in Week 1 before getting hurt. He didn’t practice on Aug. 20.

WR2 – Olamide Zaccheaus – Zaccheaus ran three routes in Week 1.

WR3 – Bryan Edwards – Edwards was drafted 81st overall by the Raiders in 2020 but has since been traded to Atlanta. He has 45 career regular season catches. Edwards didn’t play in Week 1, but he has been practicing in full this week.

WR4 – Auden Tate – Tate ran 12 routes, catching 1 of 2 targets for 7 yards. No receiver saw more than three targets in Week 1.

WR5 – Damiere Byrd – Byrd ran seven routes, catching his only target for 20 yards.

WR6 – KhaDarel Hodge – Hodges ran five routes.

WR7 – Frank Darby – Darby ran 10 routes, catching 2 of 3 targets for 14 yards.

WR8 – Geronimo Allison – Allison ran 10 routes, catching 1 of 2 targets for 20 yards.

WR9 – Cameron Batson – Batson ran 11 routes, catching 1 of 2 targets for 6 yards.

WR10 – KeeSean Johnson – The Falcons cut Tyshaun James and signed Johnson this week.

WR11 – Jared Bernhardt – Bernhardt is an undrafted free agent out of Ferris State. He is 6-foot-1, 195 pounds. He ran a 4.70 40-yard dash. Bernhardt is playing well in camp and could make the practice squad. He ran five routes, catching his only target for 21 yards and one touchdown.

WR12 – Stanley Berryhill – Berryhill is an undrafted free agent out of Arizona. He is 5-foot-9, 182 pounds and ran a 4.45 40-yard dash. Berryhill has impressed in camp, but that only amounted to five routes in Week 1.

TE1- Kyle Pitts – Pitts played 10 snaps and ran four routes in Week 1.

TE2 – Anthony Firkser – Firkser played 14 snaps and ran 10 routes.

TE3 – Parker Hesse – Hesse is 6-foot-3, 261 pounds and played 22 snaps and ran nine routes in Week 1, catching 1 of 2 targets for 1 yard and one touchdown.

TE4 – John FitzPatrick – Fitzpatrick was the 214th pick in the sixth round out of Georgia. He is 6-foot-7, 262 pounds and ran a 4.82 40-yard dash. FitzPatrick played four snaps and didn’t run a single route.

TE5 – John Raine – Raine is 6-foot-2, 230 pounds and came out of Northwestern as an undrafted free agent. He played 13 snaps and ran three routes.

TE6 – Mycole Pruitt – Pruitt is a solid blocker, playing 14 snaps and running just three routes in Week 1.

K1 – Younghoe Koo

New York Jets

QB1 – Zach Wilson – Wilson injured his knee in Week 1 and will miss the rest of the preseason.

QB2 – Joe Flacco – Flacco did not play in the preseason opener. Coach Salah said that he is “torn” on whether the starters will play. It appears that Flacco will sit, along with Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, and perhaps a few others.

QB3 – Mike White – White played 35 snaps, completing 10 of 20 passes for 98 yards. He also rushed one time for negative-3 yards.

QB4 – Chris Streveler – Streveler played 19 snaps, completing 6 of 9 passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed twice for 31 yards, showing off his solid mobility.

RB1 – Breece Hall – Hall was the 36th overall pick in the second round out of Iowa State. He is 5-foot-11, 217 pounds. He rushed 253 times for 1,472 yards, while catching 36 balls in his final season. Hall played 10 snaps, rushing five times for 3 yards.

RB2 – Michael Carter – Carter played 10 snaps, rushing three times for 4 yards and catching his only target. This was the only running back target for the entire team.

RB3 – Tevin Coleman – Coleman did not play in preseason Week 1.

RB4 – Ty Johnson – Johnson did not play in Week 1 with a hamstring injury. However, he has returned to practice and could debut in Week 2.

RB5 – La’Mical Perine – Perine played 24 snaps, rushing 10 times for 51 yards without seeing any opportunities in the pass game.

RB6 – Zonovan Knight – Knight is an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina State. He is 5-foot-11, 209 pounds and rushed 140 times for 753 yards, while catching 21 passes. He ran a 4.58 40-yard dash. Knight is having an excellent preseason and continues to move ahead of Johnson (injured) and Perine. He played 19 snaps in Week 1, rushing 6 times for 13 yards and one touchdown.

WR1 – Elijah Moore – Moore ran nine routes, catching his only target for 9 yards.

WR2 – Garrett Wilson – Wilson was the 10th overall pick in the first round out of Ohio State. He caught 70 balls for 1,058 yards and 12 scores last year. Wilson ran nine routes, catching 2 of 3 targets for 25 yards.

WR3 – Corey Davis – Davis ran five routes, going catchless on one target.

WR4 – Braxton Berrios – Berrios ran four routes.

WR5 – Denzel Mims – Mims ran 10 routes.

WR6 – Jeff Smith – Smith ran eight routes, catching 1 of 2 targets for 20 yards.

WR7 – Calvin Jackson – Jackson is an undrafted free agent out of Washington State. He is 5-foot-10, 194 pounds. Jackson has been getting work with Berrios as the main returners. He has also been working with Flacco/White for regular receiver duties. Jackson ran 20 routes in Week 1, catching 2 of 3 targets for 8 yards and one touchdown.

WR8 – Tarik Black – Black is playing with the White unit so far. He ran 14 routes in week 1, going catchless on one target.

WR9 – Irvin Charles – Charles is an undrafted free agent out of Indiana (PA). He is 6-foot-4, 219 pounds and ran 14 routes, going catchless on three targets.

TE1- C.J. Uzomah – Uzomah played 14 snaps and ran six routes, going catchless on one target.

TE2 – Tyler Conklin – Conklin played 14 snaps and played seven routes, catching 3 of 4 targets for 23 yards.

TE3 – Jeremy Ruckert – Ruckert was the 101st pick in the third round of the NFL Draft out of Ohio State. He caught 26 balls for 309 yards at 6-foot-5, 252 pounds. He is a solid blocker. Ruckert has been playing a lot with White. He played 10 snaps and ran four routes, catching both targets for 3 yards and one touchdown.

TE4 – Kenny Yeboah – Yeboah has been playing a lot with Flacco. He played 20 snaps and ran 10 routes. Yeboah caught 1 of 2 targets for 2 yards.

TE5 – Trevon Wesco – Wesco is 6-foot-3, 267 and mainly a blocker. He played nine snaps and ran three routes. Wesco caught his only target for 7 yards.

TE6 – Lawrence Cager – Cager is a former wide receiver and is 6-foot-5, 220 pounds. He played 18 snaps and ran eight routes.

K1 – Greg Zuerlein

K2 – Eddy Pineiro
