Yahoo Daily Fantasy: NFL Week 18 Preview, Pricing & Value Plays

Awesemo has a ton of great daily fantasy football tools and NFL DFS strategy to tackle all the large contests for Week 18 in NFL DFS. This article will provide some first impressions of the upcoming slate, including some of the top matchups and value plays. It will discuss salaries and who sticks out at various tiers for Yahoo daily fantasy NFL picks this week.

Week 18 has a massive 13-game main slate and there will be lots of player movement and usage concerns with several teams having already locked in playoff spots or been eliminated. This article will attempt to provide a quick overview of things early on.

Yahoo Daily Fantasy: Week 18 NFL First Look & Value Plays

QB Kyler Murray$35

The Cardinals still have a shot to grab the NFC West title, as a Rams loss against the 49ers would mean an Arizona win this week against Seattle would vault them back into first place. As such, Kyler Murray will almost certainly play the complete game. Murray had a nice bounce-back week against the Cowboys, as he threw for two touchdowns and completed nearly 70% of his passes against a tough defense. The Seahawks are nothing special on defense and have allowed 7 yards per pass attempt, the seventh-worst mark in the league. Murray is second in the Awesemo quarterback projections for Yahoo this week and is a smart target.

QB Taysom Hill — $32

Taysom Hill another quarterback who is playing in the late games this week and will almost certainly be playing the full game (barring injury). New Orleans needs a win against Atlanta and a 49ers loss. With San Francisco set as 4-point underdogs, the Saints are live to progress, and Hill will be up against a Falcons defense that has ceded the second-most fantasy points and third-most yards rushing to quarterbacks this year. Hill is a top-five quarterback in the fantasy projections this week and a good Yahoo target at just over $30.

RB Rashaad Penny — $25

Rashaad Penny was featured in a lot of the fantasy previews last week and certainly delivered the massive game expected of him. This week he is almost certain to get another featured role against Arizona, which features a defense that allows 4.4 yards per carry and has been a below-average unit in that regard all season. Penny played on 64% of the snaps last week for Seattle, the most any running back has played for the Seahawks since Week 5. He is a strong upside target again and still very affordable.

RB Elijah Mitchell — $25

Elijah Mitchell is another running back who looks locked into a higher-volume role for the final week. He returned from injury last game and promptly saw 23 touches while playing just 58% of the snaps. Mitchell’s usage ratio to how much he is on the field is almost unparalleled, and in a do-or-die game his workload will only go up. The Rams have a tough run defense but already have clinched a playoff spot, and they did give up 97 yards to Mitchell in Week 10. He is an affordable GPP pivot for Week 18.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown — $25

The Lions offense may not be one to fear from a real-life perspective, but some of their players have been solid daily fantasy performers all season. Last week Amon-Ra St. Brown went for 111 yards and a touchdown, his third straight game with at least 90 yards a touchdown. Brown is averaging 11.4 targets over his last five games and produced with third-string level quarterback Tim Boyle the last two weeks. With the Packers set to play backups for at least half of this game, Brown is likely to find some second half success again, and his price increase means he will also be likely to have lower rostership attached.

WR Christian Kirk — $17

Christian Kirk was a value target in Yahoo previews last week, and he came through with six receptions for 79 yards against a tougher Dallas secondary. Kirk has more to offer, though, playing as a 1A option in the Cardinals offense without DeAndre Hopkins, and he is again priced very cheaply at just $17 ($1 more than last week). The matchup is also a ton better for Kirk, as Seattle has allowed the eighth-most receptions and ninth-most yards to opposing wideouts this year. He is a top-five value at his position this week again.

TE Rob Gronkowski — $22

The Buccaneers will be a team to watch in terms of what they do with their starters, but one thing known for sure is that Antonio Brown will not be on the field for them. Brown has not been cut yet, but his bizarre mid-game departure last week means there will be more targets up for grabs for Rob Gronkowski. Gronkowski has looked rejuvenated this year and posted 115 yards on seven catches last week in the come-from-behind win. He is atop the point projections this week for tight end and would be a screaming value if he does indeed get the start and the Buccaneers play for the win.

TE Tyler Conklin — $12

The Vikings will not have anything to play for in Week 18, which could lead to them resting some of their star players, including potentially Justin Jefferson. Regardless, Tyler Conklin should be part of the game plan as he heads into this final game, having seen 14 targets in his last two. Conklin is one of the best values under $15 this week and could be in line for an even bigger target share if the Vikings cut Jefferson’s snap count a bit in the finale.
