Tonight the Las Vegas Raiders are hosting the Kansas City Chiefs in the featured Sunday Night Football matchup, and Yahoo Fantasy is offering NFL DFS single-game contests. The general concept of creating a team remains the same, but this is a one-game player pool. The twist is that any position player can be rostered, and one is designated to receive a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points. Using Awesemo’s expert NFL projections and rankings, these are the top Yahoo NFL picks for the Week 10 Sunday Night Football game tonight.
Yahoo NFL Picks: Week 10 Sunday Night Football
Top SUPERSTAR Options
The SUPERSTAR position will get a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points in the single-game format. Awesemo’s NFL DFS optimizer creates daily fantasy football cheat sheets. Check out who is popping in the Yahoo NFL DFS cheat sheet for the Week 9 Sunday Night Football game.
Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders – $33
In a surprised twist, Derek Carr has actually outscored Patrick Mahomes each of the last three weeks. Tonight Carr actually has the advantage since he will be at home and gets to face the fantasy friendly Kansas City defense which is one of the worst against both the pass and the run. Carr has topped 20+ Yahoo Fantasy points in 10 of his last 15 games and he simply does not get the credit from the fantasy community that he deserves.
Awesemo’s data scientist Matt Savoca breaks down in further detail why he believes that Carr and Mahomes are not worthy of the Captain and MVP multiplier designations on DraftKings and FanDuel in his Week 10 NFL DFS Showdown Matchup Breakdown column.
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs – $36
It is too early to give up on Patrick Mahomes who is one of just three quarterbacks to throw for 50 or more touchdowns in a single season. Mahomes is two years removed from winning the Super Bowl MVP and three from being the NFL MVP. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce are still among the top dozen pass catchers in the league so at some point Mahomes will work his way out of this funk. Las Vegas has a decent defense and Kansas City has struggled protecting Mahomes. In the large field tournaments it makes sense to have one Hill or Kelce as the SUPERSTAR instead of Mahomes, but in the smaller field contests it is hard to not have a quarterback anchoring our lineups.
Yahoo NFL Core Picks
Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders – $27
Last week Darren Waller saw 11 targets which was the most volume heading his way since his whopping 19 targets in Week 1. The main thing holding Waller back has been his lack of touchdowns and he has only two on the season. Kansas City has ceded six touchdowns to tight ends in their last six games. Dallas Goedert, Dawson Knox, Ricky Seals-Jones, MyCole Pruitt, Evan Engram and Kyle Rudolph make up this motley crew. None of these players is better than Waller and only Josh Allen and maybe Ryan Tannehill are better passers than Carr.
Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders – $20
While he has not been spectacular, Josh Jacobs keeps chugging along and he has double digit fantasy points in all but one game this season. Last week he logged a season high 76 yards which goes to show the volume has not been there, but he does have five touchdowns in his seven games. The other encouraging thing is that Jacobs has been active in the passing game, despite having Kenyan Drake ($16) sharing time with him in the backfield.

Yahoo NFL Value Picks
Darrel Williams, Kansas City Chiefs – $17
This is a steal for Darrel Williams as long as Clyde Edwards-Helaire remains out. It seems that the Yahoo salary algorithm may have been a week early in discounting Williams. Tonight Williams should once again see 75-80% of the snaps and the vast majority of the backfield touches. Something in the 14-16 carry range with 4-6 targets is an appropriate expectation. Jerick McKinnon ($10) is unlikely to carry the ball, though he could get a couple targets. Rookie Derrick Gore ($12) is unlikely to see any targets, but he could get a handful of carries while spelling Williams.
Mecole Hardman and Byron Pringle, Kansas City Chiefs – $10
Across the last three games, Mecole Hardman has played 60-65% of the snaps while getting 18 targets which is the third most on the team during this stretch. Byron Pringle is on the field for 40-50% of the snaps and he has eight targets in this span. Both are in play at the Yahoo minimum salary with Hardman seeing double or triple the popularity of Pringle.
Final Thoughts
This should be a fun slate with a lot of uncertainty around the Kansas City options and four Raiders being projected for at least a dozen Yahoo Fantasy points. There should be touchdowns notched by both teams tonight and it will be a fun puzzle figuring out how to build our lineups in a manner that has the best opportunity of capturing most of those scoring events.
