Yahoo NFL Picks: Week 16 Thursday Night Football

Top SUPERSTAR Options

The SUPERSTAR position will get a 1.5x multiplier on their Yahoo points in the single-game format. Awesemo’s NFL DFS optimizer creates daily fantasy football cheat sheets. Check out who is popping in the Yahoo NFL DFS cheat sheet for the Week 16 Thursday Night Football game.

George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers – $32

Gamers are always hesitant to use tight end in the single-game contests, let along roster them in the multiplier slot. This is a nice matchup for George Kittle, who has once again landed the priority spot in the San Francisco passing game. In his last three games, on average, he has turned 11.0 targets into 9.3 receptions and 141.7 yards with three trips to the end zone. The wrinkle that is enabling this to happen with a healthy Deebo Samuel ($34) is that rookies Elijah Mitchell and Trey Sermon are out, which has led coach Kyle Shanahan to utilize Samuel as a running back. In his last five games, Samuel has only 12 targets, however he is average 6.6 carries for 43.4 yards with an astounding six rushing scores. It makes sense to roll with Kittle and let others assume the risk that Samuel sees more opportunities in the passing game or continues to find his way into the end zone.

Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans – $28

The cavalry is coming over the rise in Nashville with both Julio Jones ($15) and A.J. Brown ($21) expected to play. Ryan Tannehill finds ways to score fantasy points and with his best two receivers healthy, this should help balance out his production. In his last six games it has been four rushing touchdowns that have saved his fantasy supporters as he has topped 200 yards only twice in this stretch with four touchdowns and an unsightly seven interceptions. San Francisco has a solid defense, however, they are missing several key reserves and lack their usual depth tonight.

Tannehill is one of the leading options for SUPERSTAR on Yahoo, and Matt Savoca has an even more in-depth look at his outlook tonight from a holistic view across DraftKings and FanDuel in his Week 16 Thursday Night Football Showdown Breakdown.

Yahoo NFL Core Picks

A.J. Brown, Tennessee Titans – $21

We last saw A.J. Brown in Week 11 before he was lost to the injured reserve with a chest injury. In his nine healthy games this season Brown has two games of 22 or more Yahoo Fantasy points and one with 12, though the rest have been in single digits. Ideally he will not be too out of synch and able to quickly get in a groove with Tannehill.

Jeff Wilson Jr., San Francisco 49ers – $18

Touchdowns have not been in the cards for the oft injured Jeff Wilson Jr. this season. After missing the first nine weeks of the season, he has slowly taken charge of the backfield, aided by injuries to several other contributors. Last week, he did have 21 carries for 110 yards and his first touchdown of the year. With Samuel hogging the rushing touchdowns, we need Wilson to get lucky again — however, he should flirt with 100 combined yards, which is tempting at his mid-tier salary.

Tennessee Tight Ends

This is purely touchdown hunting as Geoff Swaim is on the field for around 70% of the snaps while Anthony Firkser plays on about half the snaps, but has a few more targets. MyCole Pruitt is best left for those making over 100 lineups.

Jauan Jennings, San Francisco 49ers – $10

In the last two games, Jauan Jennings has seen 11 targets as Samuel has been working more out of the backfield. The reasonable expectation for tonight is something in the 3-4 target range, which could be enough for Jennings to be a differentiator in the large-field tournaments.
