NFL Week 15 Yahoo! Million Dollar Baller Picks Using Awesemo’s Premium Rankings (FREE)

Yahoo fantasy football is running a $1,000,000 contest with a $20 entry fee and 40,000 entries for Week 15 of the NFL season, which means they are adding $200,000 to the prize pool. Let’s get into some Yahoo Daily Fantasy Picks for NFL lineups, including Kyler Murray, Josh Allen and more.

Week 15 NFL Yahoo Daily Fantasy Strategy & Picks

The critical thing to remember is that Yahoo is a half-PPR site, and the minimum salary is $10, with an average salary per player of $22. This week, Kyler Murray is at the top of the salary list at $40. The complete scoring parameters can be found here.

One of the most valuable features of the Awesemo.com premium content is the personal player rankings from Alex Baker, for all of the main sports. The players grade out separately for each DFS site with ratings for both “projected points” and “value,” receiving an A through E report card-style grade. This week, as a special treat, Awesemo is also adding in the “Roster%,” which is the projected percentage a player will be used in the large-field tournaments.

Quarterback

If you have played daily fantasy football on Yahoo or Yahoo fantasy baseball, you know that the strategy is to look for the cheapest quarterback or pitcher that is tolerable so you can look for more secure points and upside elsewhere. In the recommendations below, I will be highlighting several discount options at the other positions so you can build a framework that will allow lineup construction for a top-shelf quarterback, along with his favorite target and still have enough salary cap to run it back with the top option on the opposing team.

Kyler Murray: Arizona Cardinals at Detroit Lions – $40

Awesemo Grade: Points A, Value A, Roster% 25.7%

This is a key road game for the Cardinals as they can continue to maintain their one game lead over the Rams. Currently they are nearly two touchdown road favorites against a downtrodden Lions squad who is dealing with injuries as well as a COVID outbreak. Even with DeAndre Hopkins out until perhaps the second round of the playoffs if he recovers in time from his pending MCL surgery, Arizona has plenty of talent to walk away with this one. Running back Chase Edmonds ($17) is set to return and while he is not someone we want to target, it gives one more playmaker for the defense to address. While Murray did not account for any touchdowns against the Rams last week, he still had 383 passing yards with another 61 on seven carries.

Josh Allen: Buffalo Bills vs. Carolina Panthers – $34

Awesemo Grade: Points A, Value A, Roster% 34.1%

This is a must win game for Buffalo who has lost three of their last four. If New England falls in Indianapolis on Saturday Night Football that gives the Bills a bit of a respite as they can gain some ground back. We know that Josh Allen is the straw that stirs the drink and even though the weather will be far from tropical on Sunday, this salary is incredibly enticing in all formats.

Running Back

We want to keep in mind that while running backs are very important, Yahoo fantasy uses half-PPR, which will not penalize running backs that are not as active in the passing game.

Saquon Barkley: New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys – $16

Awesemo Grade: Points C, Value C, Roster% 40.2%

In his four games back after his injury layoff, Saquon Barkley has seen double digit carries in three outings while averaging just shy of half a dozen targets. Though he has found pay dirt only once in this stretch, the salary is at a very forgiving level and the Giants will be leaning on him at home in the hopes of a Divisional upset of the Cowboys.

James Robinson: Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Houston Texans – $22

Awesemo Grade: Points B, Value A, Roster% 35.2%

There is a new era beginning in Jacksonville with coach Urban Meyer handed his walking papers after a series of on and off field gaffs. Interim coach Darrell Bevell has already said he will be rolling out James Robinson as his main running back and that also has the approval of rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Bevell made his bones in the NFL as the Seattle offensive coordinator that ushered in the Beastmode Era under Pete Carroll. This is a rare game where the Jaguars are favorites and they should make hay against the bottom-five rush DVOA of the Texans.

Wide Receiver

The top-shelf Yahoo fantasy options are typically priced in the low to mid-$30 range. Often, they are best paired with their quarterbacks for tournament upside rather than risking downside as solo plays.

DeVante Parker: Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets – $17

Awesemo Grade: Points B, Value A, Roster% 28.7%

Last week DeVante Parker was solid in his return after missing a month with a hamstring injury. Now rookie Jaylen Waddle is in the health and safety protocol which should send a few more targets toward Parker as well as tight end Mike Gesicki ($19).

Diontae Johnson: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tennessee Titans – $21

Awesemo Grade: Points B, Value C, Roster% 18.9%

This game is important for the Steelers if they want to hang around with a chance to make the expanded playoffs. Tennessee is actually slight underdogs on the road and of course while dealing with a decimated set of skill position players. There pass defense has been mediocre in recent games and Diontae Johnson is one of the best volume receivers this season. Currently he has 130 targets in 12 games and he is just 10 yards short of his first 1,000 season. Though he is not really a big play guy, he is consistent and gets the crucial high leverage opportunities between the 20s.

Tight Ends

George Kittle: San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons – $30

Awesemo Grade: Points A, Value C, Roster% 27.2%

There will be enough value options with all of the various “normal” injuries this week as well as a surging pandemic wave that has already postponed three games. While George Kittle has seen a $10 increase in his salary over the last two weeks, it is well earned to say the least. In his last two appearances he has tallied 27 targets for 22 receptions, 332 yards and a trio of touchdowns. With Deebo Samuel ($34) pressed into duty and holding down almost half of the rushing game touches, we should see continued production from Kittle.

Mike Gesicki: Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets – $19

Awesemo Grade: Points B, Value B, Roster% 18.8%

Similar to Parker above, Mike Gesicki should have a steady workload today now that Waddle is in the health and safety protocol. Of course where there is one positive test, there could be more, but if Gesicki is a go he is a steal on Yahoo and worthy of consideration in the same lineups as Kittle for tournament differentiation.

Defense/Special Teams

This week, there is one top-tier unit and a familiar bargain option.

Green Bay Packers at Baltimore Ravens – $17

Awesemo Grade: Points A, Value C, Roster% 6.9%

Lamar Jackson is questionable with an ankle injury and if Tyler Huntley is under center again, this is a solid situation for the Packers. Although they are on the road, they have sack and turnover upside against an inexperience signal caller who is currently installed as seven a point underdog.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons – $17

Awesemo Grade: Points B, Value C, Roster% 4.8%

In their last five games, the 49ers have been stellar with 13 sacks, seven fumble recoveries and a pair of interceptions. Matt Ryan has suffered multiple sacks in five of his last seven games along with five interceptions and just a paltry pair of passing scores.
