CBJ2 (Foligno-Jenner-Anderson)
The 2nd line for the Blue Jackets looks to be underpriced on DraftKings on a night where we’d like to find a couple cheap lines to fit with the powerhouse trios. While they don’t generate a ton of shots and scoring chances usually, they’ll be seeing time against the Henrique and Kesler lines at even-strength, which are both favorable matchups in terms of the scoring chances they allow. Each of these guys will be on the the power-play as well, and Anaheim has had trouble staying out of the penalty box this season as they are 2nd in the NHL in Times Short-Handed.
FLA2 (Dadonov-Borgstrom-Vatrano)
The 2nd line for the Panthers is littered with offensive talent, as recent call-up Henrik Borgstrom will be centering two high-volume shooters in Evgenii Dadonov and Frank Vatrano. Because of Borgstrom and Vatrano’s cheap price tags ($2.5K and $3.9K on DraftKings), we get a fun 2nd line line that should play some high-paced hockey when you look at who they’re going to go up against. Toronto is top-5 in the NHL in both Scoring Chances Against per 60 and High-Danger Chances Against per 60 on the road, so firing up FLA2 in a high-event matchup is a great way to fit in some of the top skaters on the slate.
COL1 (Landeskog-MacKinnon-Rantanen)
The best line on the slate has a team total of 3.4 against a struggling Stars team that is playing their 3rd game in 4 days. They’re incredible expensive on DraftKings at a total price of $23,000 on DraftKings, but with the pricing being soft on quite a few viable lines to pair them with, it won’t be that hard to jam them in. They should see a lot of the Seguin line at even-strength, which is allowing over 57 Corsi Against per 60 and 27 Scoring Chances Against per 60 at even-strength, and the Stars rank 5th in Times Short-Handed on the road this year. The pricing should keep their ownership in check on DraftKings, but this is by far my highest projected line on tonight’s slate.
