Stacking in NHL DFS is crucial to increase upside for a better chance to win GPPs. Below are Awesemo’s top stacks on the night, followed by additional analysis from myself, Jake Hari aka Tommienation1 on DraftKings and FanDuel.
CALGARY-1: Gaudreau-Monahan-Bennett ($17,900 DK/$19,700 FD)
“Gaudreau, Monahan, and Bennett are a sneaky-good value tonight at home, where they get to dictate line-matching. This means favorable matchups at even-strength (plus power-play time) for this great line all for under $18K on DraftKings.”
The Flames top line has been awesome all year, posting a near 60 Corsi For Percentage (CF%), 37 Scoring Chances For per 60 minutes (SCF/60), and 14.6 High-Danger Chances For per 60 minutes (HDCF/60). They will avoid the Ducks’ top lines, and instead face the Kesler and Henrique lines, which allow 12.6 and 10.7 HDCA/60 at even-strength. Monahan and Gaudreau will also get power-play time on the top unit, and the Ducks have struggled to stay out of the penalty-box all year.
ARIZONA-2: Domi-Dvorak-Perlini ($11,500 DK/$13,400 FD)
“The second line for the Coyotes will get a nice matchup against the non-Ryan O’Reilly lines for the Sabres on the road. With a lot of attention being paid to Arizona’s top line, the Dvorak line could fly under-the-radar in tournaments despite their solid numbers.”
This trio gets an “A” DraftKings value in Awesemo’s stacks article tonight, and it’s no surprise if you look at their possession stats. They have created 33.3 SCF/60 and 11.6 HDCF/60 in their evens-strength time together, plus they don’t lose correlation on the power-play, as all three of them are on the second unit. While the O’Reilly line isn’t one that we should be scared of, the Coyotes’ second line gets a much better matchup against the Eichel-Okposo combo, which allows 12.8 High-Danger Chances Against per 60 minutes (HDCA/60).
PITTSBURGH-2: Hagelin-Malkin-Hornqvist ($19,500 DK/$19,700 FD)
“Despite their upper-tier price tag, the Malkin line (“A” points grade”) gets a “B” DraftKings and FanDuel value. With Malkin and Hornqvist excellent at creating chances and some salary relief from Hagelin, they become a nice three-man stack that is fairly affordable tonight.”
The Penguins’ second line has accrued 36.1 SCF/60 and 16.2 HDCF/60 in their time together, and a date with the Drouin line line for the Canadiens is a dreamy matchup. Hudon, Drouin, and Gallagher have allowed 13 HDCA/60 and the Canadiens as a team have allowed the 4th-most HDCA/60 in March. Add in the Canadiens’ 75.2% penalty-kill and the fact that the Penguins top-ranked power-play, and this is one of the best stacks of the night.
love the article, may I ask where you find SCF/60 and HDC/60?

thanks for the help. How do you I calculate per 60 though?
Great podcast sir. I stacked Boston 1, but after listening to your podcast, I’m leaning more on Calgary.
