NHL DFS Picks: Top Stacks
The Oilers’ top line of Zach Hyman, Connor McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has been dominant this season, generating 4.71 expected goals for per 60 minutes according to moneypuck.com. They are the most expensive stack on DraftKings tonight, but they are well worth the price if you can afford them.
According to Stokastic’s NHL Top Stacks Tool, the Oilers top line has a 36.4% chance of being a top-2 stack tonight, which is over two times the chance of any other line on the slate. This makes them a must-play in GPP lineups, and if you can fit in a secondary stack, even better.
The Senators top line of Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stuetzle and Mathieu Joseph is another high-upside stack to target tonight. It is one of the highest-event lines on the slate, and the Senators get a home matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks, who are one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL. Tkachuk and Stuetzle are both on the top power play unit, so you could stack them with Drake Batherson or Alex DeBrincat for a full power play stack.
According to Stokastic’s NHL Top Stacks Tool, the Senators top line has a 16.2% chance of being a top-2 stack on DraftKings tonight. They are a more affordable option than the Oilers, and they offer plenty of upside in a favorable matchup.

NHL DFS Picks: Defensemen
When it comes to defensemen, Evan Bouchard of the Oilers is a solid value play at just $3,400 on DraftKings. He attempts a lot of shots, and he has seen an uptick in minutes recently, playing 17-plus in his last game. You can play Bouchard in a stack with the Oilers top line to save some money and get a guy that doesn’t need multiple points to be useful in a GPP lineup.
Another top value play at defense is Jonas Brodin of the Minnesota Wild, who is priced at just $3,900 on DraftKings. He is playing 25-plus minutes per night in a shutdown role and is a candidate for the DraftKings blocked shot bonus. He is one of the top projected value plays in Stokastic’s NHL DFS projections.
NHL DFS Picks: Goaltenders
As for the goalie position, Casey DeSmith of the Pittsburgh Penguins is a solid play at $7,800 on DraftKings. He has hit the DraftKings save bonus in four out of his last seven starts, and he has seen 30-plus shots in six out of those seven. He has a winnable game on the road against the Islanders, who have a 3.0 implied Vegas total. He is projected for 29 saves according to Stokastic’s NHL DFS projections.
