NHL DFS Picks & Top Stacks | March 16
Top Stacks
Florida Panthers Line 2: Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Bennett, Carter Verhaeghe
This line is a great stacking option for tonight’s slate, with a high implied Vegas total and a great 5v5 expected goals for per 60 minutes on moneypuck.com. Tkachuk and Verhaeghe are also on the top power play unit, making this stack even more appealing. The Panthers second line is currently over 12% ownership in the Top Stacks Tool.
Nashville Predators Line 2 Kiefer Sherwood, Tommy Novak, Luke Evangelista
The Predators second line is also a great option, with strong shot-generation numbers and a favorable matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks. This stack is also a good pivot off of the more popular NSH1 line.
Defensemen
Roman Josi, Nashville Predators ($9,100)
Josi is projected to have a big night, with almost 7 more points than any other defenseman on and is one of the highest projected defensemen on the slate in Stokastic’s NHL DFS projections. Josi also has top power play duties and a great matchup against the Blackhawks.
Zach Whitecloud, Vegas Golden Knights ($2,600)
Whitecloud provides a solid floor with a good opportunity for blocks against the Flames, who have attempted a ton of shots recently.
Goalie
**Note: Ivan Prosvetov ($6,500) is min salary and expected to start for the Coyotes. It is a large dropoff in talent from Vejmelka to Prosvetov, but I’m still targeting him in GPPs on DraftKings. Another option to consider as a spend-up is Igor Shesterkin of the New York Rangers.
Karel Vejmelka, Arizona Coyotes ($7,100)
Vejmelka is projected to see a lot of volume tonight, with 30+ saves in 6 out of his last 8 starts. Although there is some risk due to the amount of penalties Arizona takes, Vejmelka is worth a shot in GPPs at low ownership.
