Tottenham Trophies Won: No Trophies Won (-167)

Today’s play is a futures bet that books such as DraftKings offer. No trophies won refers to titles in the season between the FA Cup, Europa League and the EPL, in the case of Tottenham. Let’s start with the FA Cup. Tottenham looks to have their hands full against Everton. Everton is on a heater of offensive output thanks to the return of Lucas Digne to help on the wing. Now, given the position of both Everton and Tottenham in relation to chasing a Europa League berth, it is possible they will rest some players. Tottenham is lost without Harry Kane, who accounts for 66% of the goal contribution.

If Tottenham starts their full A squad and advance past Everton, you are still in favorable terms. Tottenham looks to then face the revamped Chelsea club that is fourth in the EPL in expected goals and has a much improved defense under Thomas Tuchel. Should Tottenham advance here, they likely would face Manchester City at some point, who sports the second-best offense and best defense in the EPL. I like the chances of one of these clubs taking Tottenham out of the FA Cup race.

Moving on to the EPL, this one is short: Tottenham is not going to win. The form of Manchester City and Manchester United look to be putting distance away from all but maybe Leicester City. Even West Ham looks likely to keep Tottenham from next year’s Europa League birth.

Finally, the current Europa League. Tottenham won their group and advanced to the knockout stage. This is not the Champions League, but the competition is far superior from what Tottenham has to offer. Depending how far Tottenham goes in this competition, they will end up against the likes of Roma, AC Milan or their own EPL clubs, Arsenal and Leicester City. All these teams are in far greater form than Tottenham, and it is unlikely they can avoid all of them. You need one to knockout Tottenham, or we could possibly see an upset by another club like Wolfsburg.
