Jake Paul came into the Sunday afternoon fight against Tommy Fury as the slight favorite, garnering most of the betting attention throughout the week. But he was unable to stay undefeated, with Fury earning the win via a split decision despite being knocked down in the eighth and final round by the YouTube star.

Jake Paul-Tommy Fury Rematch Likely
Jake Paul called for a rematch after suffering the loss, and that scenario seems likely. So far, no major sportsbooks have a line listed for a Fury-Paul rematch, but it is safe to assume the betting lines would favor Fury if they were to meet in the ring again.
“Don’t judge me by my wins,” Paul said, per ESPN. “Judge me by my losses. I’ll come back. I think we deserve that rematch
The Fury family was vocal in their belief Tommy would take care of Paul on Sunday, with Tommy’s brother and heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, saying before the match that Tommy would be foolish not to accept a rematch after he takes care of Paul.
“There will probably be a rematch for even more money, yeah,” Tyson said, per Yahoo Sports. “Or maybe fight his brother of another YouTube person.
“Listen, if they can make millions and millions of dollars out of fighting each other in these fights, and they’re not hard fights, he’s not fighting some guy that’s coming from Albania and has nothing in his life and if he beats this person he’s going to get millions and millions of dollars. It’s a different sport. It’s a different world, really. So they get to do these fights for millions of dollars and not a cat scratch on them, so fantastic.”
Boxing fans might roll their eyes at a potential Jake Paul-Tommy Fury rematch after Sunday’s bout did little to have us begging for more. But with Paul seeking some revenge, Fury should pounce at another opportunity to collect a hefty paycheck.
Next time around, expect Jake Paul to come in as the underdog.
