NBA First Basket Prediction & Prop Bet Picks Today 6/10: Warriors vs. Celtics Game 4

The Boston Celtics took care of the homecourt advantage in Game 3 and are now 4-point home favorites tonight for Game 4 with a 2-1 series lead. They had another incredible fourth quarter where they only allowed the Golden State Warriors to score 11 points, as they outscored them by 12 in the final frame. Similar to the Celtics, the Warriors have yet to lose back-to-back games during the playoffs. A Warriors win could reclaim homecourt advantage, while a loss would mean the Celtics are one win away from an NBA record 18th NBA championship. It’s a massive Game 4 tonight, and there is plenty of betting action to get into — specifically, finding the best first basket prediction and other NBA player prop bets.

NBA First Basket Prediction & Prop Bet Picks Today 6/10

This first basket prop has been dominated by the Warriors in the NBA Finals. They have all three first baskets each by different starters; Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney. For reference, Looney’s first basket in Game 3 was his eighth in the Warriors’ 19 playoff games, which is incredible. His number remained the same going into Game 4. This article has not hit a first basket prop since Looney’s first basket (+1400) in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, so it’s time to hit another one.

Stud NBA First Basket Prop Bet: Jaylen Brown +400

This pick is on regression back to the mean with Jaylen Brown getting the first basket to drop in Game 4. He has made the first basket for the Celtics in back-to-back games, but Wiggins and Looney made the first basket for the game right before him. It’s hard to think the team and player who led the league in first baskets this season is not going to get on the board first tonight after failing to do so for three straight games. The Celtics have also won the opening tip in two out of three games in this series. Brown’s odds haven’t changed much, so there are ways to make it more valuable. A Brown 3-pointer first basket prop is +1400, which feels like very good value seeing as all three of his first baskets in this series have come from behind the arc. Another great option is betting Brown to score the first basket along with picking the team winner. That will make this number more reasonable than +400. If playing the Warriors to get back on track, take Brown to score the first basket plus a Warriors win at +1100. If backing the Celtics, take Brown and the Celtics to win at +650. Regardless of the side, bet on the favorite to finally get some luck his way in Game 4.

Longshot NBA First Basket Prop Bet: Al Horford +1100

Of course, getting away from Looney was a big mistake, as his prayer was answered on a floater he had over Robert Williams III on the first possession of Game 3. The Celtics are outscoring the Warriors 110-92 in the paint. They are also outrebounding the Warriors 129-112 through three games. That leads to Al Horford, who is averaging 13 points per game while shooting 57.1% from the field and 41.7% from behind the arc. He has gotten off to hot starts during this playoff run, as he is shooting 52% from the field and 60% from downtown in this first quarter. His size has given the Warriors fits, not only on the glass but also scoring in the paint and from the perimeter. There is enough value with Horford scoring the first basket that there is no need to add an additional prop to his bet. Makes sure to look past Game 2 as well. Horford didn’t attempt a field goal until the second half, and that game was over very quickly. He has been a little less productive at home, but this is a first basket prop bet. Horford scored the second Celtics basket in Game 3 and the fifth in Game 1; all it takes is an early look to get the first, and he should get that.
