Ben Rasa’s Pick: Matthew Fitzpatrick

Outright: 20-1 (FanDuel)

I have seen this number around 25-1 in some spots, so make sure you shop around for the best lines. Matthew Fitzpatrick hasn’t won on the PGA tour, but that’s the only blemish as his game has continued to be rock solid. He comes into Harbour Town off a 14th at the Masters, which gives him five top-15 finishes over his last six events. Fitzpatrick’s game is in good shape, and now he comes to a layout that perfectly suits his skillset. Gaining off the tee without being long and his abilities on the greens are the recipe for success here. Eventually Fitzpatrick is going to put it all together and grab a win on tour, and don’t be surprised if it’s this week at the RBC Heritage.

Jason Rouslin’s Pick: Collin Morikawa

Outright: 14-1 (DraftKings)

A tour stop that has small, easy greens and hard-to-hit fairways couldn’t be a better description for Morikawa’s game. He hits well above the average in greens in regulation while also gaining a ton of strokes on his approaches, and he hits way above the average number of fairways as well. His putter has held him back from a victory this year, but that’ll change this week as he heads to Hilton’s head with all the momentum after his first top-five finish at Augusta.

His outright odds are some of the best in the field, coming in at 14-1, so we’ll match that up with a top-10 bet. That pays +140, so we still earn 20% if he only comes in the top 10 rather than win.

Geoff Ulrich’s Pick: Chris Kirk

Outright: 65-1 (DraftKings) | Top 5: +1200 (DraftKings)

This event has seen plenty of mid-range and longer shot winners prevail. The venue takes away the advantage of the bombers and shifts it back to players with great approach and short games who will stay patient and take advantage of their opportunities on these flatter greens. Chris Kirk fits the skillset needed to win on a venue like this and stands out as a big value to me at 65-1. He’s won on similar venues like Sea Island and Colonial and has made this event a staple of his schedule every season. Kirk’s approach game has been consistent enough (gained strokes in six straight starts), and his short game has been world class of late — he’s ranked third in strokes gained around the green over the last 24 rounds. If his putter gets hot this week, he can not only contend but breakthrough on a venue like this. The 65-1 on offer looks far too high, with comparable players set at far worse odds.
