Best NBA Bets Today: Game Tips & Betting Predictions

Bucks vs. Celtics Prediction

Milwaukee and Boston clash tonight in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals inside TD Garden. With the series tied at 2, the Bucks head to Boston as 5.5-point underdogs. Milwaukee blew a double-digit lead in Game 4, losing 116-108 on its home court on Monday. Al Horford turned back the clocks, finishing the game with 30 points on 11-for-14 shooting. In eight season matchups, the series is tied at four wins apiece. Milwaukee will need to find a way to disrupt a stout Boston defense and regain the series lead heading into Game 6 at home on Friday.

The Milwaukee Bucks had all the momentum in the series after they won Game 3, but the momentum suddenly diminished when the Bucks managed to lose a double-digit lead in Game 4 after allowing 43 points to Boston in the fourth quarter. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 34 points, 18 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Bucks shot just 41% from the field and 9-of-27 from the 3-point line, well below their season averages. Bobby Portis had a quiet game with only 4 points on 2-of-7 shooting. Jrue Holiday has been ice cold this series shooting 31-for-92 (34%) from the field. Khris Middleton remains out for the rest of the semifinals due to a knee injury. Serge Ibaka (illness), who sat out Game 4, is not on the injury report for tonight’s matchup. George Hill (abdominal) is listed as probable. Giannis is going to need more support on offense from his teammates, particularly Holiday, in order to close out this series. The Bucks rank 14th in offensive rating and first in defensive rating throughout the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Milwaukee holds a decisive edge on the glass in this series. Limiting second-chance opportunities for Boston will be critical to their success on the road in tonight’s matchup.

The Celtics can thank veteran Horford for their second-half comeback in Game 4 on Monday. Horford scored a career playoff-high 30 points, including 5-for-7 from 3-point range, leading the Celtics to a victory on the road. Jayson Tatum rebounded from his worst playoff performance with 30 points as well in the victory. Tatum went 11-for-24 from the floor after shooting just 4-of-19 in a Game 3 loss. Tatum and Horford combined for 30 of Boston’s 43 fourth-quarter points in the win. After some inconsistency on offense, Boston found its stroke, shooting 50% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc as a team on Monday. Robert Williams missed Game 4 due to knee soreness and is currently listed as questionable for tonight’s contest. If he is unable to go, expect Horford to get another start in this one.

Game 4 ended with a combined total of 224 points. Despite the game total finishing higher in each of the first four games of this series, oddsmakers have only bumped the line up 1 point for tonight’s game. In their four regular season matchups, the game total averaged 233.3 points. The over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings and 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Boston. The Bucks need their role players to be more efficient from deep, as they have been held to under 10 3-pointers made in three of four games this series. Milwaukee was a top-five team from beyond the arc in the regular season, which proves it has the talent to get hot from deep. Anticipate this game to be a close battle to the end, as both teams have proven to take the other down. Improvement from beyond the arc should drive this total over today. Ride the over with confidence.

If you find this bet to be too risky, BetMGM is giving away FREE money! All you have to do is BET $10 TO WIN $200 if either the Bucks or Celtics hit just one 3-pointer tonight.
