NBA Tuesday presents a three-game slate featuring the Warriors – Knicks and Suns – Trail Blazers on TNT. Stephen Curry is two 3-pointers away from breaking the NBA all-time record for most 3-pointers made. The Pistons – Bulls game has been postponed due a COVID breakout within the Bulls organization. Tonight the focus is on two game totals. Let’s dive into the best bets to make tonight and overall NBA betting tips for Tuesday, Dec. 14.

Best NBA Betting Picks Tonight | Dec. 14

Warriors vs. Knicks

The Golden State Warriors are coming off a 102-100 win last night against the Indiana Pacers. The Warriors travel to New York on Tuesday to take on the Knicks in the second night of a back-to-back. This will be the Warriors second game of a four game East Coast road trip. Madison Square Garden will be packed to the brim as Stephen Curry looks to break the record for most 3-pointers made all-time, surpassing Ray Allen. The New York Knicks will look to end a three-game losing streak, but they will not have an easy test going up against the Warriors, who have the league’s best record on the season (22-5).

The Warriors have cooled off after a red-hot start to the season. Golden State is 4-3 over their last seven games with a total score of 207 points per game. They will be facing a Knicks squad that is 1-7 over their last eight games. New York ranks 23rd in effective field goal percentage. Quentin Grimes came out with a bang, scoring 27 points on seven 3-pointers in his first start for the Knicks on Sunday. He will be forced to miss tonight due to health and safety protocols. R.J. Barrett and Obi Toppin have also been ruled out due to COVID protocols. Alec Burks will return on Tuesday after missing last game for the birth of his child. The Warriors remain with the same starting five as they eagerly wait for the returns of Klay Thompson and James Wiseman.

These two teams rank in bottom 10 of the league for fewest field goal attempts per game. The Knicks rank 25th in pace on the season. While all the hype will be around Curry’s record-breaking 3, do not lose sight on the under. The Warriors are allowing 100.4 points per game and holding opponents to a 49.3% effective field goal percentage. With the myriad of injuries New York is dealing with, the Knicks will need to rely on Julius Randle and others to try and stay competitive in this one. Golden State is 2-9 over/under on the road and cashing the under in 73.1% of games this season. The Knicks have a 12-15 over/under record and average 105.8 points per game. This total feels slightly inflated and gives us confidence in backing the under in tonight’s matchup.

Raptors vs. Nets

The Brooklyn Nets take on the Toronto Raptors inside Barclays Center on Tuesday. Kevin Durant is coming off a 51-point performance in their win on Sunday against the Pistons. James Harden will return to the lineup after resting in Detroit. The Nets are averaging 109.4 points per game and are first in the Atlantic division with a 19-8 record. The Raptors have 13-14 record on the year and are winners of four of their last five games. They are holding opponents to 96.2 points per game over this span.

O.G. Anunoby (hip), Khem Birch (knee) and Precious Achiuwa (shoulder) all remain out for Tuesday’s game. Expect Chris Boucher to continue get the starting nod while these three remain out of the lineup. Paul Millsap will be out for the Nets, as he was placed in the league’s health and safety protocol. Joe Harris remains out indefinitely, as he will undergo surgery on his left ankle.

The Nets are averaging 106.9 points on 45.8% shooting at home this season. Kevin Durant is averaging 29.4 points and 5.6 assists, while James Harden is averaging 20.8 points and 7.9 rebounds. The Nets defense has been excellent this season, ranking sixth in defense efficiency and allowing opponents to shoot 42.8% from the field — second best in the league.

The Raptors rank 29th in the league in pace. Both teams rank in the bottom 10 in 3-pointers made. These two teams faced off once this season with the Nets coming out on top 116-103. Toronto will be looking for revenge on the road Tuesday night. Both teams have cashed the under in five of their last six games. While the total comes in right below where their last matchup finished, have faith in the Raptors defense stepping up its efforts after taking the loss in their first matchup. Brooklyn will look to continue to dominate on both ends of the floor. Take the under in Tuesday night’s showdown.
