Normally held in February, the 2020 edition of the Indian Wells Masters was the first major sporting even to get canceled due to the pandemic. The tournament organizers also postponed the 2021 version from February to October in order to allow more spectators to be able to attend one of the biggest tennis tournaments of the year. The field for the 2021 Indian Wells Masters is a tad watered down, but that opens some opportunities to get players at deeper odds and make tennis betting picks more profitable if and when they hit. Below are some of the best tennis bets and tips on how to bet the Indian Wells Tournament below.

Indian Wells Betting Preview: Tennis Odds & Best Bets

The field on the WTA side is unusually weak for Indian Wells due to the withdrawals of Naomi Osaka, Aryna Sabalenka, Ashleigh Barty, Venus Williams and Serena Williams. Emma Raducanu, the U.S. Open champion, checks in as the tournament favorite at an extremely short +650 to win this tournament outright. Given that she has no match history at the WTA level, her run in Queens was even more amazing, but it is tough to accurately calibrate a model for her. The bookmakers are protecting themselves from a flood of Raducanu bets with this line. Raducanu was dominant at the U.S. Open, but this is a steep line for a player that lost to Clara Tauson in a WTA 125 event in Chicago two months ago.

WTA Outright Picks

Iga Swiatek +1200: With Raducanu becoming the new teenage sensation on the WTA tour, Swiatek’s excellent season has simply gone overlooked. Swiatek is the only WTA player to make the Round of 16 of every major; she skunked Karolina Pliskova in the Rome final and probably should have won the French Open this year if not for an inexplicable performance against Maria Sakkari in the quarterfinals. The draw sets up perfectly for her, as she gets to avoid the player that has been her main nemesis this year, Ons Jabeur.

Elena Rybakina +1800: Rybakina represents the seeded player in the other half of Swiatek’s quarter. When she is redlining there are few who can hit with her. This quarter features some of the hardest hitters in the game between Rybakina, Swiatek, Jelena Ostapenko and Veronika Kudermetova. Frankly, any of these players are capable of redlining for two weeks and winning this tournament, but Rybakina is in the best form of any of them.

Round 1 WTA Best Bets

Elsa Jacquemot +655: There has been plenty said about the crazy two years Dayana Yastremska has been through. She finally returned from a PED suspension in July, and her form as been about as inconsistent as one would expect. Jacquemot is mostly an unknown commodity, and Yastremska should not be a -900 favorite against anyone, let alone someone with so many questions.

Liudmila Samsonova -3.5 Games: Samsonova’s opponent, Kateryna Kozlova, made a nice run through qualifying in Chicago before losing in the Round of 32 to Elena Gabriela Ruse. Given the rest advantage and Samsonova’s ability to hit the ball through players, there is value here in taking the spread over the -150 moneyline.

Maria Camila Osorio Serrano +189: After a great start to the season, it has been a tough summer hardcourt swing for Osorio Serrano. This is a great opportunity for her to end the season feeling good against an opponent in Aliaksandra Sasnovich that has been struggling just as much of late.

Moneyline Parlay Pieces: Zarina Diyas, Tereza Martincova, Mayar Sherif, Ann Li
