A training partner of Israel Adesanya, Carlos Ulberg will make his second walk to the octagon tonight in a light heavyweight clash with Fabio Cherant. It appears the UFC is setting up Ulberg to get a flashy victory tonight as Cherant has yet to win in three attempts — twice in the octagon and once on the Contender Series. All of Cherant’s losses have come via finish to Aleksa Camur, Alonzo Menifield, and most recently, William Knight. Ulberg is coming off a second-round TKO loss to Kennedy Nzechukwu. However, he looked pretty impressive until he completely gassed out. Ulberg went for broke in the first round and almost finished Nzevhukwu, but he survived and when Ulberg got tired he poured on the pressure to get the finish. A main reason Ulberg got tired was because in the eight minutes of the fight he landed a whopping 146 significant strikes. If he comes out with the same aggression again he will be very live to put Cherant away, who, honestly, is not a UFC-caliber fighter. He also has durability issues. Israel Adesanya vs Robert Whittaker

In a rematch of their 2019 title fight, Israel Adesanya will look to defend his middleweight title against Robert Whittaker once again. Since getting knocked out in the second round by Adesanya, Whittaker has won three straight fights by decision — beating Darren Till, Jared Cannonier and Kelvin Gastelum. The Gastelum fight was particularly impressive as he put on a striking and wrestling display, landing 150 significant strikes and four takedowns in 25 minutes. Whittaker is a much better finisher than Gastelum, so it is certainly viable that if Whittaker hurts Adesayna, he can put him away. Over the course of five rounds, there is a very good chance either fighter can hurt and put away their opponents and the books are giving the bettors even money on the fight not going the distance.
