DFS Targets for AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Jordan Spieth – $10,600 (DraftKings)
There is a rock-solid option in Jordan Spieth, who checks almost all the boxes for a golfer when starting a lineup. He is one of the tournament favorites, which shows the field strength, and he comes to a venue he has plenty of positive memories at.
Jordan Spieth was runner up here last year, and that just added to an absurd Pebble Pro-Am resume that includes a win back in 2017. He relies on the putter, and wizard short game to navigate these three courses, and there is no reason that will change this week. He didn’t play great golf to start 2023, but he got some reps in Hawaii, which will pay dividends here. Ownership is fluid, but if Spieth does come in around 15%, it could be worth it to pay up for him.

Ben Griffin – $8,600
Speaking of guys that feel relatively safe how about the play of Ben Griffin lately. This guy has emerged as a consistent cut maker on the PGA tour and comes into this Pro-Am playing top end golf. Griffin got a ton of work during swing season and continued that form right into the start of 2023. He hasn’t missed a cut since September and comes in off a respectable 31st last week at Farmers. Even better than the result is the ball striking, which has been positive both off the tee and with the approach game in five straight events. One cannot ignore that type of form and at a mid-range price tag he makes a lot of sense for DFS lineups this week.

Russell Knox – $7,500
Depending on the build, it may be necessary to find some players from the bottom half of the salary range. Sometimes it will be some $6,000 punts, but if a balanced build creates room for the $7,000 range with guys like Russell Knox. According to Stokastic’s current ownership Knox might be popular, but he can still fit in a lot of builds. Knox has found the weekend in both events in 2023 but failed to gain any traction finishing outside the Top 50 in each.
Knox heads to this Pro-Am with good memories of the event having made the cut in four of his last five trips here including three Top 20 showings. At a middling price tag that kind of performance will be more than enough for Knox to pay dividends this week. Stats wise his irons are in great shape; he just needs to correct some issues off the tee to fully maximize the potential. These three courses shouldn’t put a ton of pressure on off the tee, which is a perfect setup for Knox and another reason to consider him this week.
