Four times a year crazies like me get to compete for the top prize offered in all of DFS. So much of the having the winning lineup comes down to ownership and leverage, as well as nailing the value sections. I’ve analyzed the last four tournaments, and also ran some corollary numbers and made it look pretty.
So let’s take a look at the findings:
Notes & Commentary on US OpenÂ
- The lineup from Pebble Beach’s US Open was just one golfer off of the perfect lineup, and saw our lowest combined ownership since the 2018 Open Championship. Chez Reavie was the surprise standout, as were Danny Willett and Chesson Hadley.
- The winning lineup used one star combined with balanced lineup construction. Gary Woodland, winning has a lot to do with that obviously.
Final Thoughts
The Open Championship, like the U.S. Open, is a full field major with over 150 players, which normally results in a lower ownership lineup taking it down. Last year’s British Open winner was a shared lineup that had total ownership of 110%, the highest among the last six. When the right chalk hits, that can certainly happen, but the perfect lineup only carried a total ownership of 50% and only two of the same golfers, this again is likely due to the field size and weather variability amongst the waves.
Good luck this week everyone!
