A week after a major, the PGA Tour heads back to Dallas again to complete the two-tournament run in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Only 120 players are scheduled to tee it up this week at the Charles Schwab Challenge, with a ton of attention on the top golfers playing this week. That should give plenty of options, even with the smaller field, to find some quality fantasy golf sleepers picks this week for DraftKings and FanDuel DFS golf lineups.

- 12 golfers
Fresh off his win at the PGA Championship, Justin Thomas has decided to play this week rather than opt for rest after winning his second major title. He will likely be one of the highest-owned golfers on the slate. His best friend, or at least one of them, Jordan Spieth, is slated to come in just below Thomas at around 20%. Scottie Scheffler, Max Homa and Viktor Hovland are not that far behind either and should come in close to 20% this week. Sungjae Im is a bit of an enigma this week. After withdrawing from last week’s event due to COVID, he will likely be owned around 15%.
That will do it for golfers that will be 15% or more owned, as the rest of them are likely to be owned between 10-15%. The golfers are:
- Collin Morikawa
- Will Zalatoris
- Sam Burns
- Abraham Ancer
- Tony Finau
- Daniel Berger
Top Contrarian Fantasy Golf Picks
Only one name on that list, Abraham Ancer, is projected at less than 10% ownership. He comes in off the heels of his best performance of the year, coming in ninth at the PGA Championship, and also has back-to-back 14th-place finishes here at this event. He should make for one of the best against-the-grain plays of the week.
PGA DFS Mid-Range ($8,900-$7,500)
- 19 golfers
For one of the first times in recent history, 16 of the 19 golfers in this section will get at least 10% ownership, leaving only three real fantasy golf sleeper picks this week. Tommy Fleetwood, Davis Riley, Jason Kokrak and Harold Varner IIIÂ are all trending towards 15% or more ownership this week. Just slightly below them, coming in between 10-15% is a whole host of names. They are:
- Talor Gooch
- Webb Simpson
- Mito Pereira
- Billy Horschel
- Kevin Na
- Chris Kirk
- Gary Woodland
- Brian Harman
- Sebastian Munoz
- Justin Rose
- Tom Hoge
- Maverick McNealy
With a ton of ownership going to these golfers, there are three golfers that are being left behind. They are:
- Christiaan Bezuidenhout
- C.T. Pan
- Cameron Tringale
Bryson DeChambeau‘s late withdrawal from the event takes away another option, as he was projected with less than 5% ownership this week.
Top Contrarian Fantasy Golf Picks
Of the three names that are going to be less than 10% owned, Tringale has the highest projection according to our Awesemo PGA DFS Projections, with 58.9 points.

With so many golfers in the above price sections projected with 10% or more ownership, it leaves little room for the golfers down here to be owned. None of the remaining golfers in the field have a projection of greater than 6%. There are a few golfers projected between 5-7%. They are:
- Patrick Reed
- Rickie Fowler
- Ryan Palmer
- Troy Merritt
- K.H. Lee
- Stewart Cink
- Adam Long
- Denny McCarthy
- Mark Hubbard
A few more are projected at around 4% this week and they include:
- Kevin Kisner
- Joel Dahmen
- Cam Davis
- Lucas Herbert
- Nate Lashley
- David Lipsky
- Patton Kizzire
- Doug Ghim
- Lucas Glover
- Patrick Rodgers
- Austin Smotherman
Of the names on these last two lists, and of every golfer in the field, Austin Smotherman has the best value rating, coming in with an 8.66 rating, the best in the field this week. Check out the full field’s projections and value, by clicking here.
