Adam Scott ($33)
Statistics show that the weakest part of Scott’s game right now is his ability to hit the fairway with a driver. It bothered him so much that he added a 2 wood into the bag last week in lieu of a driver. He finished 26th while gaining around 2.5 strokes for the week off the tee. His problem was his irons, which is unlike him. With a bounce-back week in that category and continued success finding fairways off the tee, he is one of the best values at his salary.
Shane Lowry ($31)
An unfortunate Florida swell cost Lowry a chance at winning his first PGA Tour event. While Sepp Straka got his tee shot off before the swell arrived and was able to go for the green in two, Lowry did not. All in all, though, he played a great tournament, gaining strokes everywhere but around the green and hitting over 80% of his fairways for the week. With a top-10 at the Players already and conditions that should favor him, Lowry can hit his value just by getting to the weekend.
Gary Woodland ($21)
Woodland had a chance to win each of the last two events. After an eagle on 16 last week put him up by one shot, a par-par finish likely would have won him the tournament. But an unlucky break on 17 and another bogey on 18 cost him for the second week in a row. Coming to 18 at the Honda, he was -4 and made double on the par 5. So does this mean his top form is back and here to stay, or does the gas run out for a bit? Either way, his almost minimum price this week gives him the top value according to Awesemo’s PGA DFS Projections.
