PGA DFS: Korn Ferry Tour Power Rankings & Preview: 1-50

#40- Henrik Norlander

Bio & Season Outlook: The tall swede, no not that Henrik,  is back on the PGA Tour full time after a couple of years on the Korn Ferry Tour. Known for his short game, Norlander really improved his iron game on the tour last year.

2019 Performance:  A win late in the season at the Witchta Open sewed up his card after notching two top 5’s earlier in the season. Norlander seems to be true to form golfer, missing the first six cuts of the season, before making the seven.

Statistical Preview: Accuracy was king for Henrik last year, who ranked 5th on the KFT previous year in the stat. He parlayed all those fairways hit into tons of greens in regulation, ranking 4th on the year.

Model Rank: 16

#39- Rob Oppenheim

Bio & Season Outlook: The perennial bubble boy, made it thru this year as the second last golfer to get his PGA Tour card from the KFT this season, #49/50. His previous full-time stint on the PGA Tour on the PGA Tour was back in 2018, where he made 11/26 cuts, and his best finish was a T15 at the Zurich Classic.

2019 Performance: On the bubble for both the regular season, and finals, Rob’s 9th place finish in Boise, and 33rd last week at the Tour Championship, was good enough to get him his card thru the KFT Finals.

Statistical Preview : Oppenheim is not going to knock the cover off the golf ball, that’s for sure, ranking 125th in DD on the year, but he makes up for it by being a solid iron player, ranked 24th in GIR and having a good short game ranking inside the top 31 of both scrambling and putting.

Model Rank: 28

#38- Chris Baker

Bio & Season Outlook: 33 years old from Indiana, Chris finally broke through this season and his first PGA Card since turning pro in 2008. He’s played full time on the web.com tour since 2014 and has never been able to breakthrough. Finally, after years of perseverance grit and determination, he finally made it to the big stage.

2019 Performance: He didn’t make it easy on himself, having to finish in an 8th or better to get his card at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, Baker finished in a tie for fourth.

Statistical Preview: Statistically Chris set’s up quite well, ranking third in driving accuracy, and not suffering too much distance either, ranking 75th. All those fairways hit gave him plenty of chances to hit greens, ranking 16th on the year, while maintaining the second-best scrambling efficiency on tour. He only struggled with the putter ranking outside the top 110.

Model Rank: 18

#37- Joseph Bramlett

Bio & Season Outlook: The 31-year-old who grew up and did his studies at Standford, is making his long-awaited return to the big leagues, after an 8-year absence. Wow. After finishing in 199th back in 2011, Bramlett went back to the Korn Ferry Tour in 2012 and finished 28th. Then, a very rough five years ensued, where he virtually disappeared. More heartbreak ensued when he missed out on his PGA Tour card in 2018 by fractions, only to bounce back this year and come in 32nd. But he wasn’t done there.

2019 Performance: Finally a steady performer form the Korn Ferry Tour Finals get through, as Bramlett was able to nap three top 26’s in the three events, good enough to earn 1 of 25 cards available.

Statistical Preview: Another guy that statistically measures up quite well, ranking in the top 50 in DA, top 35 in DD, top 10 in GIR, top 10 in BS, top 25 in scrambling, and only lacking with the putter ranked 99th. He could be dangerous if he can find a putting stroke for a couple of weeks this season.

Model Rank: 17

#36- Bo Hoag

Bio & Season Outlook: The first two odd connections between Hoag and Bramlett, both are 31, and both have very similar games. He’s been grinding away on the mini-tours since 2011, and full-time on the Korn Ferry Tour the last four. Finally a breakthrough this year that gives Bo his first PGA Tour card.

2019 Performance: Hoag won the very last regular-season event of the year which was also is his first top 10 of the year, BUT, he made 87% of the cuts, so obviously the grind paid off!

Statistical Preview: Eerily similar to Bramlett, in fact, they both came in at 99 in the putting stat, Hoag, however, favors accuracy (43) over distance (78) off the tee. He was second on tour in GIR, and 22nd in scrambling.

Model Rank: 13

#35- Ben Taylor

Bio & Season Outlook: The 27-year-old from London has been grinding away on the Korn Ferry Tour for the last three years. 88th in 2017, 38th in 2018, and finally the breakthrough year was this year.

2019 Performance: Taylor was able to make 13 cuts this year, missing 9, with three top 10’s. That wasn’t good enough however to get him inside the top 125, so, he needed a second-place finish at the first Korn Ferry Tour Finals event to secure his PGA Tour card.

Statistical Preview: Ben got hot at the right time; statistically, he doesn’t really excel anywhere. His best attribute last year seemed to be his putter, ranked 30th on the year.

Model Rank: 31

#34- Zac Blair

Bio & Season Outlook: Turning into this generations Rob Oppenheim, the perennial bubble boy, Blair finds himself around that 125 number on the PGA Tour quite a bit. He has made 73 cuts in 120 events played, good enough to make over 3.3Million in his career on the big stage, but a bad 2018 sent him back to the Korn Ferry Tour once again.

2019 Performance: The win at the beginning of August sewed up Zac’s return to the big stage, but he also added nine other top 25’s six additional top 10’s and made 17 out of 24 cuts. Pretty stellar year for Zac.

Statistical Preview: It’s all accuracy here for Blair, ranking second-best on the Korn Ferry Tour this year. He was able to translate that into 12th in GIR, third in scrambling and 12th in putting.

Model Rank: 16

#33- Cameron Percy

Bio & Season Outlook: Forty-five must be the new 25, or at least that’s what Cam Percy is feeling! Back to the big stage, he goes wherein 2018 he actually made 11/16 cuts, but that was only good enough for 168th on tour. He has very similar numbers to Blair, in terms of cuts made, 79 and events played 136, with over 3 million in career earnings. He has one runner up finish, but no PGA Tour Victories.

2019 Performance: Cam only played in 12 events this year, making the cut in 11 of them, and placing in the top 25 in seven of them…Wow. That’s pretty darn impressive for a 45-year-old. He made it thru though by his play during the Korn Ferry Tour Finals placing 11th in the final two events of the season.

Statistical Preview: The Australian is a great ball striker, improving his DD to the top 60 on tour, DA the top 35, and GIR the top 11! He’s also a good scrambler, ranked 16th, and a decent putter ranked 30th.

Model Rank: 12

#32- Mark Hubbard @homelessHubbs

Bio & Season Outlook: The 30-year-old from Denver has been on the PGA Tour quite a bit, last in 2017. His record-making cuts are pretty good (51/84), but no career top 10’s will limit the amount of time spent on the PGA Tour. He’ll hope to change that this year.

2019 Performance: A win early in February gave Mark great hope that he would be able to play again on the PGA Tour, and he threw in 9 other top 25’s after that just to be on the safe side.

Statistical Preview: Self-proclaimed as “homeless Hubbard” scratched and clawed his way around the Korn Ferry Tour this year, ranking inside the top 12 in both putting and scrambling. He also ranked inside the top 4o in both GIR and DA.

Model Rank: 15

#31- Rhein Gibson

Bio & Season Outlook: The 33-year-old from Australia played full time on the PGA Tour back in 2016, where he came in 199th in the FedEx Cup making 9 of 20 cuts with only one top 25.

2019 Performance: Rhein had a very good beginning part of June, where he all but secured his PGA Tour card, coming in a T4 at the Rex Hospital Open, and then winning the next week.

Statistical Preview: Nothing stat-wise that’s going to get you overly excited about Rhein, as his best stat was scrambling ranking 17th. Not to much trouble either, however, ranking 93rd in DA, his worst stat.

Model Rank: 14
