PGA DFS & Golf Betting Picks: The Memorial 2022
With the great success both Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay have had at this golf course, it’s no surprise they make this an annual stop. Jordan Spieth does as well, but he has only two top-10s in 10 trips and only two missed cuts at the same time. As of right now, both Morikawa and Cantlay are projected for less than 10% ownership, while Spieth is projected to be in around 15% of the lineups. If one is looking for a reason not to solidly overweigh the field this week on Spieth, it’s that this is the fourth week in a row playing, which seems like a lot for him. However, two of the events were mere minutes from his house. Something like that certainly eases the comings and goings that accompany having an infant and thus less stress on the travel aspect of the job overall. His form has looked solid for weeks now and his ball striking is back to 2015 levels, possibly better. A lot of the lineups I play this week will feature two of three.
PGA Weather Forecast

The Memorial Tournament 2022 Fantasy Golf Picks & Projections
These golfers will have anywhere between 20% and 50% allocation.
Joaquin Niemann
$8,300 DraftKings/$10,300 FanDuel | 45-1 (DraftKings)
The tale of the tape doesn’t tell the whole story for Niemann, who has only missed one cut all year — the Honda Classic. That was also the week after his win at the Genesis Invitational, and since that missed cut he has made five straight, with all his finishes coming inside the top 35. That level of consistency typically yields a high-end result when peak form hits. At this price this week, even if he has an average finish like the last five starts, Niemann’s value is right on the money, making this an easy decision.
Mito Pereira
$8,000 DraftKings/$9,000 FanDuel | 50-1 (DraftKings)
The near miss at the PGA Championship could go many ways. But at least for a week, Pereira seemed to take confidence in the fact that he earned his career-best finish in a major that came with a career-best paycheck. Given that he gave up the game for a couple of years as a teenager, that surely helped provide perspective given his success at one of the year’s biggest tournaments. If that form is here to stay, Pereira should be able to use his strengths around Muirfield Village and provide another solid start in his rookie year on tour.
Aaron Wise
$7,500 DraftKings/$9,800 FanDuel | 40-1 (DraftKings)
In six of the last seven events Wise has played in, he’s provided a solid return in terms of DFS. Even when he fails to put four good rounds together, he’s putting of DFS scoring. He’s also found success at this course and is coming off a solid top-25 at the PGA Championship. While the win I predicted hasn’t happened quite yet, Wise continues to build a solid foundation for his ascent up the OWGR.

Cam Davis
$7,200 DraftKings/$7,800 FanDuel | 150-1 (DraftKings)
Davis has found the top 10 twice in his last four starts, but the other two haven’t been good, with a missed cut and a 48th-place finish at the PGA Championship. That type of upside at these prices is just a bit too hard to ignore. Last week he did everything well, emphasizing his approaches and gaining about 3.5 strokes on the week.
Brendan Steele
$6,700 DraftKings/$8,800 FanDuel | 200-1 (DraftKings)
It’s possible that the best time to play Steele this year was at the PGA Championship a few weeks ago, where he came in ninth. His ownership was less than 5% and his salary was rock bottom. Now he comes with higher ownership as gamers chase the consistent returns he’s been providing at good prices. There are a few ways to handle this, and typically the solution I choose is to bet the player, fade the ownership in DFS and look for direct pivots that will have very little ownership.
Sahith Theegala
$6,500 DraftKings/$8,500 FanDuel | 280-1 (DraftKings)
A very tough Sunday overshadowed another quality outing for Theegala, who was in the mix for a top 20 before the 79. His irons and putter both deserted him, losing him a combined six strokes in the fourth round. Conditions were toughest then, something he won’t be facing this week. The rest of the week saw him gain over three strokes on his approaches and two strokes with his putter.
