PGA DFS is back and we are two rounds into the Sentry Tournament of Champions. The action on the DFS side is just getting started as DraftKings is offering up $25,000 to first place for the third-round slate. This article will give a quick statistical snapshot from the previous round and outline a few of the best PGA DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel in the upcoming round. This can be used as a guide for how to build your daily fantasy golf lineups for Round 3 of the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

PGA DFS Golf Picks: Round 3 Sentry Tournament of Champions

Scoring conditions were ideal yet again today for the second round, as the players faced little wind and were given preferred lies in the fairway. Both of those things add up to a very close leaderboard and very low scores. The second round would be about the “chalk” of the week as Cameron Smith and Daniel Berger, the two highest-owned golfers of the slate, and how they would perform. And they played great. Even after opening with a couple of bogey’s and a few pars, Smith would go on a tear and play his last 13 holes at 11-under par. In fact, no golfers would pick up any ground on the first-round leader Smith, as his play is scorching hot through two rounds. Even Patrick Reed and Sam Burns, who shot tournament-low 64s, would only be good enough to tie Smith’s second round nine-under-par score.

Best PGA DFS Golf Picks Today for DraftKings

Ideal conditions await the golfers for the third straight day, but hopefully, in Round 3, they won’t have preferred lies in the fairway.

  • Sungjae Im ($8,500): Sitting just behind Jon Rahm and Patrick Cantlay in strokes gained ball striking through two rounds, Im picks right up where he left off over the fall. Coming in with some of the most consistent form over the last bit, Im also seems quite comfortable here at this course. He’s played six rounds here now, and his worse was a 69 on Sunday last year. Quality price and form make him the main target in the third round.
  • Brooks Koepka ($8,200): Momentum is a big un-quantifiable topic that’s debated heavily in the betting/DFS streets but is certainly real amongst the pro golf ranks. Brooks carried some of that into this week with his late fall performances and sits in a good position through two rounds. He’s lost strokes on the approach in each of the first two rounds, which is unlike him, especially when he’s playing well. Also, sitting at -10, he’s played the drivable par four 14th hole at three over through two rounds. Give him a par on each of those, and he sits just four back of the lead. A lot to build on over the weekend for Brooks.
  • Hideki Matsuyama ($8,100): Before last year’s last-place finish for Hideki, his trips to Maui typically ended with a good finish. This week he’s back in form ranked in the top 3 in strokes gained on the approach through two rounds. His top-end results typically come when he’s top three in that stat and matches that up with a good putter. He’s got that this week, historically a good time to back him.
  • Max Homa ($6,500): Looking at the stats, this may be a bit of an off-the-wall pick as Homa has only putted well this week, nothing else. He’s gained 3.5 strokes putting in the first few rounds, good enough for second in the field. But that’s not his makeup, in fact, the putter is what held him back most of the year last year when he did play bad. If the other attributes pick up a bit over the weekend and he gives himself a few more chances, that hot putter could really go to good use. He shouldn’t be highly owned either, given his other stats this week.
