PGA DFS: Recent Form WGC-Mexico

Now, almost two months into the season, we’ve got plenty of data to go off of. Only the injured Tyrell Hatton hasn’t played in the last 11 weeks. Five golfers have only played twice, while the rest of the field has played at least three times. Three golfers have played seven times and the number continually increases, with the average being around five starts.

Matt Kuchar, Chez Reavie and Jazz Janewattanond are the three with seven. A blend of Euros and PGA players sit at six starts, including Lucas Herbert, Ryan Fox, Sung Kang, Patrick Reed, Sebastian Munoz and Lanto Griffin.

Recent Form

Positives

Three golfers have five top-25s in the last weeks. Kuchar and Janewattananond have done it in seven starts, while Jon Rahm has done it on all five of his starts. There are four golfers with four top-25s. Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who is coming in off of a win last week, has done it in six tries, while Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele have done it in five tries. Louis Oosthuizen has done it in all four. Only one other golfer, Webb Simpson, has at least three starts in the past 11 weeks and has a 100% top-25 rate in all of them.
All three of Simpson’s starts finished in the top 10, making him the only golfer to accomplish such feat. He, however, trails Rahm and Janewattananond, who each have four top-10s. Simpson is joined by Reed, Ousthuizen, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas.
Seventeen other golfers have at least a pair of top-10s over the last weeks. Some of the names not mentioned yet are Bryson DeChambeau, Abraham Ancer, Shaun Norris, Lanto Griffin, Graeme McDowell and Sergio Garcia.

Negatives

Justin Harding is the only golfer with more than five starts and no top-25s in his last five, while five others haven’t done it in their last three. Those golfers are Lucas Glover, Danny Willett, Matt Wallace, Francesco Molinari and Jorge Campillo.
Tae Hee Lee, Carlos Ortiz, Benjamin Hebert, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Scottie Scheffler, Brendan Todd and Jason Kokrak all have only one top-25 in a minimum of four starts.
