During the 10-week hiatus, we worked on our content to deliver you the best possible info out there. One of those changes was combining the course history and recent form articles to showcase two of the most essential elements when building out PGA DFS lineups each week. Since we were on a 10-week hiatus, we’ll use form from this year and course history back to 2015. Let’s get into the Fit & Form guide to make your PGA DFS picks for your daily fantasy lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel for the CJ Cup, the 78 men no-cut event.
Form From Past 11 Weeks
Since this is the first time this event has been held in the states, let alone Shadow Creek, there isn’t any course history to go off of. So we will focus primarily on recent form heading into this week.
Sungjae Im leads the field with nine starts over the past 11 weeks, the only golfer to accomplish such feat, while Sebastian Munoz, Tommy Fleetwood, Si Woo Kim, Joaquin Niemann, Shane Lowry, Corey Conners, Tyler Duncan and Mark Hubbard have all teed it up eight times. On the other side of that, Brooks Koepka and Joohyung Kim are the only ones to have played fewer than five times, each teeing it up three times, and only Koepka hasn’t competed at least once in the last three weeks.
Even though we don’t have to worry about a cut this week, there have been 17 golfers with at least five starts that have earned a paycheck every time. A few of those names are Viktor Hovland, Rory McIlroy, Russell Henley, Brian Harman, Cameron Smith and Bubba Watson.
Positive
Top 10s
Two golfers in the field have five top 10s in the last 11 weeks: Dustin Johnson and Jae Kyeoung Lee. Lee, a 21-year-old who plays his golf on the Korean Tour, will be making his first start ever on the PGA Tour. Johnson, on the other hand, is one of the hottest golfers in the world right now. Xander Scahuffele is the only golfer with four or more top 10s, while nine others have three, including Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Matthew Wolff.
Top 25s
Johnson and Lee each have six top 25s. They are joined by Kevin Kisner and Schauffele as the only golfers in the field to have six top 25s in the past 11 weeks. Seven others have five, including Rahm, Scottie Scheffler, Hideki Matsuyama, Brendon Todd, Daniel Berger and Louis Oosthuizen.
Only three golfers in the field have come in the top 25 in each of their starts over the past 11 weeks: Johnson, Lee and Schauffele. A few other notables here are Alex Noren, who has done it four of five starts, and Berger, who has done it in five of six.
Negative
Top 10s
Of the 78 golfer competition, only 27 of themselves haven’t found themselves inside the top 10. Some of those include Hovland, Harman, Kevin Na, Dylan Frittelli, Gary Woodland, Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and Conners.
Top 25s
Only 11 golfers in the field of 78 don’t have a top 25 in the last 11 weeks: Spieth, Na, Kim, Woodland, Adam Hadwin, Andrew Landry, Michael Thompson, March Leishman, K.H. Lee, Sung Kang and Nick Taylor.
