Back to California the PGA Tour goes for the Genesis Invitational. It is a loaded field, but the big news is Tiger Woods is also set to get his season started. Although he will not provide much PGA DFS value, he brings energy to the event. Looking at potential DFS options, there are many different ways to build and potential targets for lineups. Using Stokastic’s PGA DFS projections here are a few guys to target this week at the Genesis.

PGA DFS Value Targets for Genesis Invitational
Justin Thomas – $10,100 DraftKings
Justin Thomas was a great play in all formats last week for betting and DFS, and although he didn’t win, he put forward a quality showing. Thomas finished fourth despite having nothing special with the flat stick, and that shows where his tee-to-green game is. He was among the best ball strikers last week, and that will pay major dividends coming to Riviera. This demands an all-around game that Thomas has, plus his around-the-green game is as good as it gets. He is a building block even in these strong fields and is in play in all formats.

Tyrrell Hatton – $8,100 DraftKings
Tyrrell Hatton is another player who has appeared in this space recently. He is reasonably priced this week, played fantastically at the WM Phoenix Open and should not be overly popular. The biggest concern is his preference for Bermuda greens, but putting is a high-variance thing to predict. If Hatton can build or replicate the nearly 10 strokes gained tee to green, he will be primed for another good showing, and a difficult test like Riviera won’t be an issue for him.
Alex Noren – $7,300 DraftKings
The lower-$7,000 range on DraftKings is loaded with possibilities, and getting it right will go a long way toward having a chance this week. Alex Noren is coming off a disappointing missed cut at Waste Management, but he is 4-for-4 in finding the weekend at Genesis, and that’s going to be a ticket to success if he can just make the cut. Despite the missed cut last week, he gained with the irons and the putter, so it is just about finding consistency off the tee. Noren should once again get 72 holes in at Genesis, and he is one of the top paydown options this week.
