WM Phoenix Open Pro Am DFS Targets: Justin Thomas Hidden Among Strong Field

It’s early in the PGA season, but this is a marquee event out in the desert. The WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale is always a fan favorite due to the rowdy atmosphere, and that brings the best of the best to compete. With so many big names to choose from, it will be a difficult task building and creating PGA DFS lineups. There are so many ways to go, but here are a few guys worth exposure this week.

PGA DFS Value Targets for WM Phoenix Open

Justin Thomas – $9,800 DraftKings

Seeing Justin Thomas under $10,000 shows the field strength at the WM Phoenix Open. He could be an aggressive second man into lineups or the lead guy in balanced builds. He has elite short game, plenty of course history and already got some reps in 2023. Thomas’ off-tee game hasn’t been up to his standards, but that is not something to be concerned about. Given his price and his ceiling, Thomas fits a ton of different builds and is one of the best options on the board this week.

Alex Noren – $7,600 DraftKings

The mid-range is loaded, so naturally some guys have to fall under the radar. Some of the Euros who have been playing overseas might not get the recognition they deserve, and Alex Noren falls into that category. Noren played well a few weeks ago in Abu Dhabi and now comes to a course where he flashed last year. Now, he did gain over seven strokes putting, but regardless, this is a good course fit for Noren’s skillset. TPC Scottsdale should not put immense pressure on distance off the tee, and all Noren needs to do is dial up the irons since the rest of his game is world class. The price and ownership make him appealing in a week where the mid-range is full of options.

Chris Kirk – $7,300 DraftKings

Chris Kirk is only a few hundred dollars below Noren, and though it’s still early in 2023, Kirk has been on fire, posting back-to-back third-place finishes. He gained at least four strokes with the irons in each and synced that up with a positive putter. If Kirk can continue to replicate those ball-striking numbers, then the results will continue to follow. There is no arguing that the field strength has increased, but Kirk is experienced and comes in playing fantastic golf. He finished 14th last year in Phoenix, and there is no reason he cannot land a similar finish in 2023.
