⛳ PGA DFS Picks: AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Leverage Leaders | DraftKings & FanDuel

The PGA TOUR will stay on the West Coast this week for the 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. PGA DFS has a full slate of high-end GPP plays available for the tournament. Below are some of my favorite PGA optimizer picks of the week for both DraftKings and FanDuel. These PGA DFS picks are based on Awesemo’s Top Golfers Tool, designed by Alex “Awesemo” Baker to provide leverage scores for each golfer in the field based on their ownership, salary and chances of finishing inside the top six. These picks combined with the site’s daily fantasy golf picks, projections and analysis should help with lineup construction.

PGA Optimizer Leverage Picks: AT&T Pebble Beach

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no pro-am part of this tournament this year. Also, instead of playing three courses, the golfers in this full field will play one round each at Pebble Beach Golf Club (par 72, 6,814 yards) and Spyglass Hill (par 72, 7,041 yards) for the first two rounds, then the players who successfully make it through a normal top 65 and ties cutline will close out the event with two rounds exclusively at Pebble Beach Golf Club. In other words, Pebble Beach Golf Club is the host course this week and the main track to focus on when choosing our fantasy golf picks.

Nate Lashley

Awesemo PGA DFS Leverage Scores: DraftKings: 2.2%, FanDuel: 2.2%

Lashley put on a show with his ball striking last week at the Phoenix Open. At the end of the tournament, he ranked ninth in strokes gained tee to green, sixth in strokes gained on approach and eighth in greens in regulation, lifting him to an impressive 17th-place finish at TPC Scottsdale. This was his fifth made cut in his last eight starts on tour, and Lashley has a 2-4 record at Pebble Beach if we exclude his withdrawal from last year’s edition of the AT&T Pro-Am. Lashley’s top performance at this venue came at the 2019 U.S. Open, when he posted a 28th-place finish, the best major finish of his career.

Pebble Beach Golf Club is home to poa greens, and Lashley’s best career putting splits come on this cut of grass. He ranks 14th in total strokes gained when we analyze all of these golfer’s last 24 rounds on poa, and Lashley’s one PGA Tour win came on this type of green at Detroit Golf Club for the 2019 Rocket Mortgage Classic. Combine his work on poa with his current ball-striking form, and Lashley is an awesome GPP target that this week is expected to carry minimal ownership, per Awesemo’s Top Golfers Tool.

Latest PGA DFS Content

Sam Ryder

Awesemo PGA DFS Leverage Scores: DraftKings: 2.0%, FanDuel: 1.0%

At 2.0% main GPP ownership on DraftKings, Ryder extended his cut streak to three in a row last week at the Phoenix Open, and he should be extremely under-owned once again based on Awesemo’s ownership projections. The highlight of this current run is a 10th at the Farmers Open, and over this time Ryder ranks 10th in strokes gained on approach and seventh in greens in regulation.

Now Ryder will look to keep things going this week at Pebble Beach, where he made it to the weekend in his course debut back in 2018 (68th). Ryder has solid upside in this weak field, and his price tags on both DraftKings and FanDuel are too low for how well he has been playing.

Brandt Snedeker

Awesemo PGA DFS Leverage Scores: DraftKings: 2.1%, FanDuel: 2.9%

We should never sleep on Snedeker when he is playing on poa. Over his last 50 rounds, no player in this field has gained more strokes putting than he has on this type of green, and Snedeker is 16 for his past 20 in made cuts at courses that feature poa. This long run includes a notable nine top-25s and four top-five finishes.

Snedeker has two career wins at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and if we include the 2019 U.S. Open, he is 9-for-14 at the course. Via Awesemo’s Top Golfers Tool, Snedeker is slated for sub-5% ownership on both DraftKings and FanDuel, making him one of the best ways to gain leverage in GPPs this week.

Hank Lebioda

Awesemo PGA DFS Leverage Scores: DraftKings: 1.8%, FanDuel: 1.6%

Lebioda has been excellent with his irons, and if he is ever to gain strokes with his flat stick this week, he will easily outperform his near-minimum price tags. In his last two starts, Lebioda has hit 73.6% of greens in regulation and gained an average of 2.6 strokes when approaching the green.

He has been competing on the weekend in seven of his last 11 starts on tour, and Lebioda has a split 1-2 record at Pebble Beach, with a solid 38th in 2019. By no means is he a safe choice, but Lebioda is worth a look this week if building stars-and-scrubs lineups.
