Trevor Lawrence Signs A Massive Endorsement Deal With Gatorade

Trevor Lawrence is yet to take a single snap in the NFL and he is already signing endorsement deals. The likely number one overall draft pick just inked a seven-figure deal with the popular sports drink company, Gatorade. According to reports from Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, Lawrence will pitch the company’s main sports drink brand. This makes Trevor Lawrence the first rookie signed by Gatorade since the year 2012.

“Lawrence’s deal with Gatorade could be worth up to $2 million,” stated Bob Dorfman, a Baker Street Advertising creative director who specializes in rating endorsement potential. “Since Lawrence is already a household name, he could rake in $5-7 million in endorsement dollars his rookie season. Lawrence is the first quarterback signed by Gatorade since Cam Newton in 2012.

Gatorade’s confidence in Lawrence speaks a great deal about his expectations as an NFL quarterback. Many are saying he is the highest-rated quarterback since the former Colts QB, Andrew Luck. Gatorade’s global head of sports marketing, Jeff Kearny, spoke highly of Lawrence.

“From our point of view, he’s a terrific fit for our core brand … We see him as being a hero for that flagship product,” Kearney said.

As a longtime consumer of Gatorade, Trevor Lawrence was clearly excited to sign with the brand.

“It has been a staple in my sports journey since I was a kid, so I couldn’t be more excited to join the brand,” Lawrence said, per CNBC. “I don’t just look at the financial aspects of it, but do I really fit with companies? … I always have to ask myself, ‘Is this me?’ So Gatorade was an easy choice.”

We are less than a week away from the NFL draft. While Trevor Lawrence won’t be able to attend the draft in person, he fully expects to hear his name called number one overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
