Ashley Westwood (DraftKings: $5,800, FanDuel: $14)
Chris Wood (DraftKings: $6,300, FanDuel: $20)
Burnley will host Norwich on the four-game main slate. Norwich continues to be a poor defensive team, dead last in expected goals allowed on the season. Most of the damage to their defense comes on the road, and that makes Burnley a solid team to target. Burnley has scored in four of their last five matches, and the most notable was two goals posted a week ago against a tough Leicester defense.
Ashley Westwood is the set-piece man for the host and averages 5.2 crosses per match. His 2.80 scoring chances rank atop the club, along with Dwight McNeil. McNeil will garner ownership because of his open-play work on crosses, assisted shots and drawn fouls. In this young season Westwood leads the team in drawn fouls, at 1.60 per match. Westwood is a core play in all formats, and the price is too low for his floor.
The goal hunter is Chris Wood. Wood has no floor but does get a prime matchup. He averages 2.11 shots per match and handles penalties. He has just one goal on the season but led the club in scoring a season ago, with a goal every 0.39 matches. The scoring upside at home in this matchup makes him a GPP play.
Ismaila Sarr (DraftKings: $9,300, FanDuel: $20)
Raphinha (DraftKings: $10,700, FanDuel: $21)
On this slate ownership will gravitate to Chelsea at home against Southampton. Chelsea is clearly the better team, but they have played a number of matches in a short frame. Leeds – Watford will provide the most goals. In GPP mixed exposure to both sides offers the most upside. In cash the pairing of Raphinha and Ismaila Sarr makes sense. They both come with a high price but have been in great form. Leeds allows 2.70 expected goals per match at home, while Watford allows just 1.1 expected goals on the road. Leeds will test this number, and the high pace plays right into Raphinha’ s wheelhouse.
Raphinha averages 3.4 shots per match and 6.54 crosses. He gets his crosses via an even split of indirect sets and open play and leads with two drawn fouls per match. One concern might be his health, as he was taken out of their last match. He is expected to go, and his floor and goal contribution upside would be a hard fade in any format.
Sarr leads Watford in scoring and averages 2.67 shots per match. Leeds’ defense will give up chances, and if the heroics of Illan Meslier does not rob three on-target attempts, Sarr is sure to continue his scoring run. Dennis is a GPP consideration with the shot volume and open-play crossing spread. He is under $7,000 and offers upside and salary relief to fit with a Chelsea stack. If looking for Chelsea and these two explosive wingers in cash, the punt option seems to be Joshua King. His price is below $5,000, and he has contributed on the scoring via assists.
Other Options: Allan Saint-Maximin (DraftKings $8,000, FanDuel $19), Romelu Lukaku (DraftKings $10,500, FanDuel $23), Hakim Ziyech (DraftKings $7,800, FanDuel $15), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (FanDuel $22), Neil Maupay (FanDuel $18), Stuart Dallas (DraftKings $6,100, FanDuel $13), Teemu Pukki (DraftKings $6,100, FanDuel $18). Kenny McLean (DraftKings $4,700, FanDuel $10)
Defense
Marcos Alonso (DraftKings: $7,100, FanDuel: $15)
Marcos Alonso had a disappointing outing mid-week against Juventus, but Southampton is not Juventus. He has the crossing volume and scoring chances created on the wing to pay off the high price. His crossing volume averages 6.83 to complement 3.83 shots and assisted shots per match. These performances were against far greater competition in Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham. This is not a match Chelsea will look to draw. Alonso will help them get there and is an all-format play despite the high price at the defender spot. Should Ben Chilwell get the nod, the same goes for him in that winger role.
Other Options: Matt Ritchie (DraftKings $6,000, FanDuel $12), Danny Rose (DraftKings $4,100, FanDuel $8), Ben Mee (DraftKings $2,900, FanDuel $11)
Goalkeeper
Karl Darlow (DraftKings: $3,900, FanDuel: $7)
Nick Pope (DraftKings: $5,400, FanDuel: $11)
