These are listed in order of what I believe are the top plays, including median projection, floor and upside.

EPL DFS Picks: Forward/Midfield

Anwar El Ghazi (DraftKings $8,300 FanDuel $15)

Bertrand Traore (DraftKings $6,900 FanDuel $16)

Chelsea is the favorite in this matchup. I would expect a bounce-back game from them after a disappointing outing against Arsenal. You need to get different on a two-game slate, and Aston Villa’s attack allows you to fit in Manchester City’s top attack. Both teams are in solid form. Chelsea’s home offense ranks second in the EPL, while Aston Villa’s road offense is above average.

Anwar El Ghazi continues his volume output since entering the starting rotation. He is averaging seven shots per start, with three goals and 6.7 crosses per game. The price tag against a better home defense should have ownership pivoting elsewhere, and El Ghazi could be had as a great GPP play.

Bertrand Traore will control the set corner pieces. His offensive attack is more active than just set pieces. He averages six crosses, 2.5 shots and 1.5 shots assisted per start. I won’t look into his half game minutes in his previous outing because a red card to Tyrone Mings forced him out for a defensive change. Traore’s price and role will have him garnering ownership, but his floor is too hard to ignore.

Mason Mount (DraftKings $7,500 FanDuel $16)

Olivier Giroud (DraftKings $7,700 FanDuel $17)

Aston Villa has the first-ranked road defense on the road in the EPL. The home offense of Chelsea can still break through for a score or two, and I expect a higher-scoring affair in this match. Mason Mount will take the corner sets for Chelsea, and his floor is too hard to ignore. Mount averages 4.21 crosses per game, 4.21 shots/assisted shots per game and 2.14 won tackles/interceptions per game.

Olivier Giroud should get the start at the No. 9 role today. He is a finisher around the penalty box. In full-game runs, he is attempting 3.66 shots per game and has scored in two of his three outings. At this price, he is more of a GPP option, considering he needs a goal to pay off the salary.

Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic are also options on the wing, but they are GPP plays to me. The shot volume is spread, and they both need goals to hit value.

Other Options: Kevin De Bruyne (DraftKings $9,700, FanDuel $23), Raheem Sterling (DraftKings $8,600, FanDuel $22), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (DraftKings $6,300, FanDuel $19), Ollie Watkins (DraftKings $6,500, FanDuel $17), Gylfi Sigurdsson (DraftKings $7,100, FanDuel $14).

EPL DFS Picks: Defender

Emerson (DraftKings $4,400 FanDuel $8)

Kurt Zouma (DraftKings $3,900 FanDuel $15)

With questions as to the starting defenders for Chelsea, Emerson would be a preferred option. If he is on the bench, then Reece James comes in too cheap at under $5,000. Chelsea plays through the wing backs, and either one will have options to push up the wing and deliver open-play crosses or set up shots for the wingers. Ben Chilwell is also an option, but the price might have me off him since there are a lot of midfielders and forwards I want to jam into a lineup.

Kurt Zouma is a punt option but offers a decent floor. He will attempt his headers off corner sets, and Aston Villa is not imposing on the clears around the penalty box. I also like pivoting to the Aston Villa center back, who should get his own share of header attempts and come at a discount, whether it be Kortney Hause or Ezri Konsa. 

Other Options: Joao Cancelo (DraftKings $5,600, FanDuel $15), Matthew Cash (DraftKings $4,700, FanDuel $13), Yerry Mina (DraftKings $3,400, FanDuel $12), Benjamin Mendy (DraftKings $3,700, FanDuel $10).
