Week 5 of the EPL offers four matches for Tuesday’s soccer DFS slate. Chelsea headlines the slate as -175 (BetMGM) road favorites in a game that should go over its 2.5 goal total. The rest of the matches are expected be closer defensive battles. Here’s a look at some of the best players to target in GPPs.

DraftKings & FanDuel EPL DFS Picks Today 8/30
Forwards/Midfielders
James Ward-Prowse (DraftKings: $9,000, FanDuel $17)
Chelsea heads into Southampton where they’ll face the weakest defense on this slate. Southampton has been particularly bad at home with an expected goals allowed of 1.6 per match, good for fourth worst in the EPL. The situation makes Chelsea the top stacking option, but it also means that Southampton will have to push the pace if the game gets out of hand. If that happens, expect Southampton to run everything through James Ward-Prowse. Ward-Prowse averages 5.5 crosses per match and has created an average of 3.5 scoring chances so far this season. He has also been one of the best two-way players with 4.25 tackles won and interceptions per match. Those kinds of numbers are why Stokastic projects Ward-Prowse for 18.89 DraftKings points, highest on the slate. Moussa Djenepo offers exposure to Southampton at a lower price point.
Pascal Gross (DraftKings: $9,700, FanDuel $17)
Brighton will take to the road against a Fulham team that has looked a bit vulnerable on defense at times this season. Pascal Gross is primed to take advantage of the situation as he will handle the bulk of sets for Brighton. Gross averages 5.75 crosses and 3.75 scoring chances created per match. He is projecting for 18.28 DraftKings points in our Stokastic EPL model. Gross is getting overlooked in GPPs with all the attention going to Chelsea. < strong>Danny Welbeck and Leandro Trossard make for good “pay-up to be contrarian” goal hunting plays.
Jack Harrison (DraftKings: $8,300, FanDuel $17)
Everton is another strong defensive team on this slate but Leeds is at home and should look to put the pressure on. Jack Harrison drives Leeds’ offense, pacing the team in average created goal chances and crossing volume. He has also been successful at drawing fouls, coming in at an average of 2.22 fouls drawn per match. These numbers give Harrison a safe floor in DFS. You can also look to Harrison’s teammate Rodrigo who has been one of Leeds’ top finishers, or Daniel James on the opposite wing. Don’t sleep on Wilfried Zaha and Alexander Mitrovic, who both have high drawn foul rates and direct goal attempts.
Other Options: Mason Mount (DraftKings: $8,400, FanDuel $20), Raheem Sterling (DraftKings: $10,200, FanDuel $22), Eberechi Eze (DraftKings: $8,000, FanDuel $15).

Defenders
Pascal Struijk (DraftKings: $4,600, FanDuel $12)
Marc Cucurella (DraftKings: $6,800, FanDuel $13)
Leeds’ is also still a spot to target for strong defensemen. Pascal Struijk will be the best option as he should get a lot of leeway to roam around in this matchup with Everton. Even at Struijk’s elevated price he’s still coming in at a 2.14 value score in our Stokastic EPL projections. That’s tops on the entire slate. Paring Struijk with Illan Meslier at goalkeeper can also make for a nice correlated play that will significantly bolster the upside.
Marc Cucurella should get crossing volume and scoring chances from their defensive spot. Cucurella’s asking price is high, but he also handles some corner set pieces when Chelsea spreads things around. Paring Cucurella with Reece James, Kante, Mason Mount or Raheem Sterling is a way to get different while still playing the chalkiest team.

Goalkeepers
David Raya (DraftKings: $4,200, FanDuel $9)
