EPL DFS Picks DraftKings + FanDuel Breakdown | Nov. 6
These are listed in order of what I believe are the top plays, including median projection, floor and upside.
EPL DFS Picks: Forward/Midfield
Che Adams (DraftKings $8,500 FanDuel $18)
Shane Long (DraftKings $6,700 FanDuel $17)
James Ward-Prowse (DraftKings $8,800 FanDuel $16)
With Danny Ings out we have salary available for different builds. Ings has contributed on 50% of Southampton’s overall scoring on the year and the team is struggling at home, with an expected goals for of just 3.5. Che Adams will look to carry the workload upfront and has been in great form on the year. He is averaging 1.85 shots per game, with 28% goal contribution for the club.
Shane Long looks to slot into Ings abandoned post. He provides solid value at sub $7k, with an average 1.26 shots per game across previous two seasons with the club. The match up for both is as good as the Brighton one against Burnley, with a Newcastle defense that is allowing an EPL mid tier expected goals against average of 4.1 on the road. I would consider Long or Adams with Adams the favorite given the in form appearance.
James Ward-Prowse is the one guy I do not think you can get away from. His floor is the highest on the slate and his price comes still too cheap. He should slot back to cover the wing back absence of Ryan Bertrand but still controls the set pieces and should take PK without Ings. Ward-Prowse averages 4.28 crosses per game, 2.14 shots and assisted shots per game, and 2.42 tackles won and interceptions per game. The defensive attributes should see a bump sitting at the wing back position and the crossing volume as well.
Leandro Trossard (DraftKings $7,300 FanDuel $18)
Tariq Lamptey (DraftKings $6,900 FanDuel $13)
If Neal Maupay returns to the lineup he is a top option against a Burnley team giving up 4.3 expected goals against on the road. I like the value brought by Leandro Trossard and Tariq Lamptey. Trossard averages 3.85 shots and assisted shots per game and Maupay does not hurt his production but frees up attention for him which is a plus. Trossard can add to his value with 2.85 crosses per game and his upside is in contributing on scoring for his club which is currently missing, but was sitting at 20% last season.
Lamptey could be in question and with a hamstring injury his ownership could drop with doubt how long he can go. He can draw fouls in bunches with 2.85 per game and provides open play crosses form the wing to the tune of 2.28 per game. His 3.00 won tackles and interceptions per game make his sub $7k price easy to pay off.
Other Options: Stuart Armstrong (DraftKings $6,800, FanDuel $15), Dwight McNeil (DraftKings $6,500, FanDuel $12), Allan Saint-Maximin (DraftKings $8,200, FanDuel $14), Callum Wilson (DraftKings $9,000, FanDuel $19).
EPL DFS Picks: Defender
Charlie Taylor (DraftKings $4,800 FanDuel $9)
At the Defense we have low prices and you can ideally play anyone. Charlie Taylor gets an interesting match up against Brighton which can boost his crossing volume and fouls drawn like teammate Dwight McNeil given the EPL leading 13.42 fouls per game Brighton allows. Taylor averages 4.66 crosses per game and 1.25 tackles won and interceptions while not coming as a foul committing risk against the shifty wings in Brighton.
Other Options: Jamal Lewis (DraftKings $4,100, FanDuel $9), Bernardo (DraftKings $3,900, FanDuel $6), Matthew Lowton (DraftKings $4,000, FanDuel $12).
Goalkeeper
Mat Ryan (DraftKings $5,100 FanDuel $12)
Karl Darlow (DraftKings $4,200 FanDuel $8)
