UCL DFS Picks Joshua Kimmich All-Around Production Worth High Price Tag September 13 2022

Round 2 of  UCL DFS group stage continues with six matches, one of which will play tomorrow. That game is a solid matchup for Napoli against Rangers, so be sure to leave spots open on DraftKings for lineups that will not be confirmed until tomorrow. As for today, there is an important battle between Bayern Munich and Barcelona and value plays from Club Brugge.

DraftKings & FanDuel UCL DFS Picks Today 9/13

Forwards/Midfielders

Leroy Sane (DraftKings: $9,400, FanDuel $19)

Joshua Kimmich (DraftKings: $10,000, FanDuel $16)

Bayern Munich plays host to Barcelona, with Robert Lewandowski returning after years of dominating up top. Lewandowski comes in atop the salary charts once again. There might be an added pressure to pat the scoresheet. The over is marked at -220 (BetMGM) on the 2.5 total, which is no surprise given the star-studded casts. The winger of note for Barcelona also comes in with a salary that requires scoring in Ousmane Dembele. Look for Bayern to match the goal scoring at a discounted rate. Leroy Sane has volume in created chances and shots to hit a floor that will not drown lineups should he fail to score. His floor is higher with these metrics on FanDuel where he sits as a top forward option without the common $20-plus salary.

Joshua Kimmich comes in as the top-projected DFS play on DraftKings according to the Stokastic UCL projections, with a 19.64 projection. His price is high, but with full set shares and defensive metrics of 4.56 won tackles/interceptions, he will not need to score to produce a high floor. Kimmich also trails only Sane on the created chances team sheet with 4.93. Tomas Mueller rounds the attack with a possible appearance in the starting eleven by Jamal Musiala. In cash games, Kimmich with Musiala would cover the bulk of the attacking for Bayern and leave room for the top-projected Napoli options in the attack.

Andreas Skov Olsen (DraftKings: $4,900, FanDuel $16)

Andreas Skov Olsen was too cheap to ignore a week ago and his price tag has not come up to where it should be. The concern all around for Club Brugge is an away match where they tend to sit back and not be as attacking form. FC Porto is also a stout defensive team, both home and away, so it is hard to like the Brugge attackers regardless of the cheap salaries they offer. Skov Olsen on the other hand can do enough with crossing volume and slight defensive metrics to 2x the price even if the total score line read 0-0. Start with Skov Olsen in all formats and fill the attacking fronts with goal hunters in any mix for GPP MME.

Mohammed Salah (DraftKings: $9,000, FanDuel $22)

Steven Bergwijn (DraftKings: $7,500, FanDuel $16)

The Liverpool – Ajax battle looks to be the best place to stack offenses against each other. Liverpool has had no issues scoring on the year. They are not posting three goals, but they are producing offensively; their issue is the defense. Ajax is a known attacking force and has a number of guys that can find the back of the net. In MME mix and matching the fronts from both sides makes sense. Liverpool has a few attackers from the bench that can limit the run of the Robert Firmino and Luis Diaz, but in a much0needed match, Jurgen Klopp won’t pull his best players out of the match unless they have a big lead.

In cash games, stick with the set piece attackers from Liverpool, as they have a contribution rate that matches the attacking and are not scoring dependent. In single entry, Mohammed Salah will be leverage considering his drop in form since signing the long-term deal. Salah is still among the contribution leaders for Liverpool and leads in shot volume at 2.83. On DraftKings, his price is easier than it is on FanDuel, where Giovanni Simeone and Alexis Sanchez are favorable, goal-dependent options.

Ajax has ownership always gravitating to the set man Dusan Tadic. Tadic has a floor, and the salary is harder to get to outside MME. Steven Bergwijn will line up across from Trent Alexander-Arnold. Bergwijn comes in cheap enough for a goal-hunting shot at the spread scoring from Ajax since the Medical treatment to Sebastian Haller.

Other Options: Giovanni Simeone (DraftKings: $5,700, FanDuel $18), Piotr Zielinski (DraftKings: $9,800, FanDuel $20).

Defenders

Trent Alexander-Arnold (DraftKings: $6,500, FanDuel $15)

Trent Alexander-Arnold sees the top of the defender food chain once again. His offensive involvement is too much, and he splits direct sets with Salah. With teams attacking him and they will he will have increased chances to rack up some won tackles/interceptions. That, along with the created chances and nearly nine crosses per match, gives him a floor of 1.5x value.

Other Options: James Tavernier (DraftKings: $4,800, FanDuel $9), Mathias Olivera (DraftKings: $4,900, FanDuel $11), Luca Pellegrini (DraftKings: $3,500, FanDuel $9).

Goalkeepers

Simon Mignolet (DraftKings: $3,600, FanDuel $6)

Alex Meret (DraftKings: $5,500, FanDuel $12)
