The Dillon Danis-KSI boxing match is no more. Enter YouTuber Faze Temperrr … because why not? According to a manager involved, Danis is taking his name out of the fight due to being unprepared.
Via Misfits Boxing’s Mams Taylor’s Twitter (he’s part of the KSI side of things):
“I got a phone call saying Dillon is pulling out of the fight,” Taylor said in a video statement. “The real reason, from what they said to me, is that he’s underprepared, he has no coach, he might be struggling with weight. For someone who cares about his reputation as much as he does, or what people think of him, I didn’t think that this would be something despite many people saying the opposite, ‘He’s not going to show up to the fight.’ They were right.’”
“I got a phone call saying Danis is pulling out of the fight.”@MamsTaylor explains that Dillon Danis has decided he will no longer fight @KSI. A new opponent will be announced in due course.

As mentioned, even with Dillon Danis no longer being involved, the KSI camp appeared determined to find a replacement. According to the most recent news, another YouTuber (because of course) will take Danis’ spot; as Faze Temperrr is now scheduled to be the opponent on January 14.
Alongside this news, the attraction to the event himself released a statement following the Danis dropout.
“I mentioned at the press conference that Dillon was being haunted by me,” KSI said. “He made his excuses and knew he couldn’t handle what I bring to a boxing ring. This answers the question whether he’s a fighter or not. He’s a warrior all right, a keyboard warrior, and hopefully he’s learned to leave the real men to speak with their actions rather than hollow words.”
The weird world of e-celeb combat sports remains a thing. It’s not only limited to boxing either, as some MMA sideshow attractions have gone down in history as well. As weird as it might be to you or me, these fisticuffs are apparently drawing enough eyeballs, money and attention to make it worth it for the fighters. Time will tell if a Dillon Danis-KSI boxing match will ever go down, or if the addition of Faze Temperrr as the current opponent puts that battle to bed forever.
Anyway, wake me up when PewDiePie does battle with Nexpo. Now that’s a fight I’d like to see.
