Enjoy Illinois 300 NASCAR DFS Tournament & GPP Picks | DraftKings & FanDuel

The field has been set for Sunday’s Enjoy Illinois 300 race at Gateway Raceway after practice and qualifying took place over the weekend to get the drivers ready for their first time here in the Cup Series. With Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric leading the field to green on Sunday, let’s dive into the best NASCAR DFS plays for tournaments.

NASCAR DFS GPP Picks Today: Gateway Raceway

NASCAR heads to St. Louis for the Cup Series first bout at the track, meanwhile the Truck series has ran here in previous years. There’s several drivers with experience here, which should be an advantage, but there is similar tracks that are currently in the Cup Series to compare to for Data points heading into Sunday. Looking at how drivers have performed at shorter flat tracks and how they looked over the course of the weekend will be the best way to try and pin point the top drivers for this weekend. There isn’t as many laps this weekend as we would normally see at a shorter track, but multi-dominator builds will still be the best route to take in tournaments.

Top Driver Picks & Projections

Ross Chastain $10,000 DK / $11,500 FD (10th)

Everyone knows by now that Chastain is a top level driver this year, but now that he is in the five digit range on DK, people may shy a way a bit now that he has to be a complete focal point of your lineup. That is no concern of mine however as I think he should be the most expensive driver every week until further notice. He has killed all track types this year and he has a win at Gateway in the Trucks Series. I will be heavy on Ford’s this weekend but Ross is an exception.

Ryan Blaney $9,500 DK / $10,500 FD (5th)

Blaney will pick up ownership this weekend, but the hope is that William Byron’s place differential upside will steal some of that to not make him over owned. But Team Penske looked to have the strongest cars during Friday’s session and the Ford’s in general have the fastest cars based off of this weekend’s event so far. Blaney hasn’t been someone I have rostered much of late, but short flat tracks are his bread and butter and he seems to be one of the top dominator plays on the slate with the speed he has shown.

Joey Logano $8,900 DK / $10,000 FD (7th)

Very similar play to Blaney as they are both teammates for Team Penske, so I fully plan on loading up on both despite them picking up solid ownership in tournaments as they have the top cars on the weekend as far as practice was concerned. The plan to combat this higher ownership is to take an aggressively overweight approach and pairing them with lower owned mid range plays instead of the ones the field will flock to.

Aric Almirola $7,000 DK / $7,000 FD (8th)

Tough spot starting in 7th, but track position is going to be very important here and AA is someone I always find myself attacking on shorter flat tracks as he has a long track record of success at them in SHR equipment. The Ford’s were strong and this is a way to try and get lower ownership on one at a good price point down low.

Austin Cindric $6,800 DK / $6,500 FD (2nd)

Similar to the drivers above, the starting spot puts them in a tough spot, but the drivers seem to think passing will be very difficult on Sunday meaning these drivers up top have set themselves up quite nicely. This is also a great way to get cheaper Penske exposure as Cindric is teammates with Blaney and Logano mentioned above. He also had a top 3 car in practice and could very well hang around the top five for the majority of the race.
