Series Notes

AFREECA FREECS

AF is one of the weirder teams in the LCK. They’re capable of challenging top teams and looking shaky elsewhere. I don’t believe much will be different on this slate, as I like AF to push GEN before ultimately falling a bit short. Both of these teams sit in the upper half of the LCK in kills per game, and AF could capitalize on that if they don’t allow GEN to run away with the games early. Mystic is the stud I’m targeting from AF tonight, and he should produce in a series win.

GEN.G

On paper GEN appears to be less than optimal team to target as Clid leads the team with a 64.8% kill participation (KP). Weirdly enough, that’s not entirely true as Ruler has multiple 100-point games, and Bdd is more than capable of that on any night. As a team they’re priced fairly on both DraftKings and FanDuel, and I don’t mind any piece of them in a series they should win. The biggest question I get is who I think will start between Life and Kellin. I always project Life in, as he’s the better player, but we should get lineups before lock so the mystery will be solved.

ESTAR

In what is the only battle between two bottom-half teams on the slate, ES looks to turn around their six-series loss streak against OMG. We’ve seen an almost reverse V5 from ES this split as it appears that the only player they lost was a little bit important. Saying that, I do believe they can kick it into gear this series, and we’re getting them at near bargain basement prices on DraftKings and FanDuel. Rat is starting for ES tonight, and I’m interested in him probably because he’ll likely see suppressed ownership even at a cheaper price point.

OH MY GOD

OMG has quietly put up six contested series in a row despite being 3-3 in those series. Each of those losses went to three games, and two of them were against LGD and FPX. It appears that they’ve figured something out, so they very well could defeat ES. Icon has the best lane matchup for OMG, and with a team-leading 68.2% KP, he could prove valuable for LoL DFS purposes in a series win.

DYNAMICS

Shocking the world with a 2-1 series win against T1, DYN gets rewarded with their third difficult series in an absurdly difficult stretch of four. The absolute best thing about watching DYN is that what we see is a sum greater than the parts. None of these players are bad, but it’s difficult seeing any of them achieving greater success than they are at DYN, and they remind me of early LCS C9 in a way. DYN likely won’t take this series, but they play strong and confidently enough to challenge any of the top LCK teams. Rich is a beast and on top for damage share at 27.8%. If he can punish Nuguri, then DYN will have a smoother road to victory.

DAMWON GAMING

It’s easy to look at DWG and see their obvious strengths. They average +2679 gold at 15 minutes, they’re the only team in the LCK or LPL with an average game time under 30 minutes and they have multiple viable lanes to play around. Naturally there’s a little bit more to all of that, but the long and short of it is that even if DYN challenges DWG, I still like DWG to win this series. Ghost is the most expensive player on FanDuel which makes him a little weird to shove in, but DraftKings has him as the third-highest-priced ADC, and I love him there.

JD GAMING

Closing out the slate we get JDG versus VG. With kill totals on each end of the spectrum, JDG not only are likely to win, but also likely to make your LoL DFS lineups happy in the process. Each JDG laner is capable of putting up a big score here, and oddly enough Kanavi has the lowest KP on the team at 61.2%. You shouldn’t be afraid of rostering JDG this slate, but LokeN is my favorite part of JDG tonight.

VICI GAMING

Oddly enough, VG appears strong in the early game with a +729 gold total at 15 minutes, which is better than their counterparts. VG needs to find a way to not only manage early game, but also must figure out how to navigate JDG’s late-game team cohesiveness as well. This squad is riding a four-series win streak, and if they exploit the few weaknesses JDG has, then Zeka is one of the VG players worth considering for LoL DFS purposes.

Favorite Plays

ADC – LokeN. LokeN is slightly easier to get on FanDuel as the second-highest-priced ADC, but the price on DraftKings shouldn’t deter you from playing a solid ADC on one of the best teams on the slate.

MID – Showmaker. The mid laner constantly lives up to his name as he puts on a show frequently during games. Kuzan shouldn’t pose any issues, and DWG should take the series 2-0.

Favorite Contrarian Play

JNG – WEI. WEI might get muddled with all the talent on the slate, but the JNG leads his team in KP. If you told anybody ES would be cheaper than OMG last slate, they would’ve laughed at you.
