The NBA playoffs continued on Monday night, and Stokastic’s own Eddie ‘1800Eddie’ Lai cashed in for a massive NBA DFS win.
Lai owned Monday’s NBA $500K Shootaround ($100K to 1st) contest at DraftKings. The pool featured a $20 buy-in and 150 max entries. Lai’s winning lineup benefited from a breakout showing by Davion Mitchell, who played 22 minutes but didn’t do much in Game 1.
That wasn’t all. Lai followed it up with another $100K winner on Tuesday — this time in MLB.

Lai references Stokastic’s Steve ‘dacoltz’ Buzzard, who hit THREE in a row a week ago.

Here’s what Eddie’s NBA winning lineup looked like on Monday.

Unlike the rest of the field, Eddie Lai smartly backed Sacramento’s Davion Mitchell. Only 6% of entered lineups featured Mitchell. Tools like Stokastic’s ownership projections can help you identify contrarian pivots like Mitchell. While Eddie still played some popular picks, like De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk, he avoided big-name guys who busted like James Harden. A late Harrison Barnes rebound sealed the win.
Eddie also mostly avoided the early game, a battle between the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. Those teams combined to score only 180 points in a slow-paced, inefficient game. Only two 76ers made it into Eddie’s winning lineup, Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris, while the rest of his eight-player lineup saw the floor in the late game.
